Well than, let's ask those that have taken the vaccine so far.
You must be so much happier about not having to where that mask all the time.

A single dose of Pfizer’s or Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine was 80% effective in preventing infections, according to a new CDC study. Two doses are better than one, the CDC said, adding that the vaccines’ effectiveness jumped to 90% two weeks after the second dose.

Even if unvaccinated , You know you don't have to wear mask all the time ? Right?
Even though your wife might insist that you do, you can take it off during sex. unless of course you took the Chinese vaccine in which case I would wear a mask all the time, simply to hide my embarrassment . I hear one of the side affects of the Chinese vaccine causes your penis to shrink to Chinese size . What? yours did not shrink?
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

Then...there are the unsettling and unreported stories, coming out of the States, that hundreds [maybe thousands] of Pfizer/Moderna fully vaccinated souls have been reengaged with COVID illness [after being tested as well], varying from minor to severe maladies rendering a percentage to be hospitalized. All these new setbacks, SNAFUs and issues [Pfizer/Moderna/J&J/AstraZeneca] regarding the prime vaccines have led the health and scientific communities to throwing their hands in wonder.

In particular, the Pfizer/Moderna vaccines were still questionable as to their effectiveness toward the ever-changing mutated strains that have come about in the last six months. All the vaccines were late in development regarding their suspected worthiness toward the new, and always changing, variants.

The manner in which the herd immunity [with or without updated immunity] will take place in the in the next couple of years appears to be the most realistic and strategic - just let it go and allow it to have it's way on the populations.

the virus is just part of natures continuing fightback against the overpopulation that threatens to disturbs the natural balance that has enabled the planet to survive for millenia. the virus is not going anywhere soon. turning off your aircon and central heating, cars going electric, saving the rainforests and that ugly bint gretas stupid threats will all amount to nothing. nature knows full well how to take care of things, and it doesn't care one iota if the human race survives or not.

this virus and others (along with resistance to the life saving antibiotics that have made infection control so efficient over the past 100 years ) will be with us for a long time and as they mutate and we become increasingly powerless to control them the population will over the next few hundred years reduce to a size compatible with the ability of the planets resources to sustain that population, a situation that certainly does not exist in the frenzy of mad consumerism at the moment.

the increasing stupidity of the human race and their rulers (witness the large gatherings in india over the past few weeks, the warped minds of the anti vaxxers, the drunken crowds that fill the streets of europe whenever a bar or pub is released from lockdown or a poundland store re opens and of course the thai hi so in their strip clubs and casinos) and you can see how we are going out of our way in helping the virus to achieve its goal.

the virus is enjoying its freedom as it rolls unhindered around the planet doing natures bidding.

and as for our freedoms, well , holidaying in thailand or jumping on a plane at a moments notice are just the dreams of the deluded as we in our blinkered complacency refuse to adapt to what is becoming our new normality.

vaccinations are i believe just a temporary salve and will prove useless so long as infected people are allowed to travel to areas of low or zero infection.

Are you going after Skidmark's crown jeff?

    • About 5,800 of 75 million fully vaccinated Americans have gotten COVID-19, according to the CDC.
    • Such "breakthrough" cases are to be expected, the CDC said, as vaccines aren't 100% effective.
    • They're rare, affecting about 0.008% of vaccinated people, but more common in older adults.

Thanks Harry. I hope to get the Pfizer or Moderna soon enough. First they are doing all the Toronto/Peel teachers, and since I live in a hotspot, my city should be next. Congrats to all that have already had a vaccine!

    Just a warning.

In the future (as most of us are travelers) you might be requested for support. Someone might ask for a little more than the CDC card that you received.

The clinic/hospital/pharmacy will have that support/history. You might want to request it now.

Check that the information on the CDC card matches what is in their (clinic/hospital/pharmacy) system.

Whatshername had to get the pharmacy to issue a new CDC card for her today because the print out history was different from what was recorded.

Thank you for caring Misskit, but when I went to our jungle hospital in outback Laos to get my Sino vaccine I pushed past the other 16 suckers demanding to go first. WTF, they told me I was too old. I am only 62, how dare they. I was in the Capital Vientiane a week later and went to the government hospital and got an Astra Zeneca shot.
I confess i was apprehensive as some of the younger blokes who got the Sino vac the week before were quite unwell, with fever and swollen glands after. Not so with me. My immune system went into overdrive and the next day I felt incredible, invigorated, younger and full of energy. This lasted about five days, so it will be good to see the reaction to the second shot.

Wife got the second Moderna shot yesterday and has a fever of 101 F this morning and body aches. She had no reaction from the first shot. Still better than getting the virus.

The vaccines are not 100% effective. 5% not immunized by a vaccine in 1 Million people injected is 50,000 souls so those news reports are not surprising. That is why getting high percentage of the population is necessary to stop the virus.

Finally got my first AZ shot last week in Laos, free for all over 60 years old, including foreigners.
It didn't hurt at all, probably because I was used to dealing with so many pricks already (not in the Ugandan sense....)

    Brother got his Pfizer shot
    Sister got her Astra-Z shot
Daughter in Oz had her Pfizer shot

We're still waiting even for the flu-shots this year . . . theoretically we'll get those in June sometime.

Covid shots? Sportspeople, artists and some front-liners.

    NZ . . . amazing.

Yea . . . nah. You're making this too easy.

I'll explain it to you as many others here do:

Vaccinate people - allow others in. Take a healthy population, vaccinate them and everyone benefits.

Quite the long leap there - previously you simply kept repeating that I wanted/demanded the vaccine because I wanted to go on holiday to Australia. Here's a hint: I have an Australian passport and didn't need to be vaccinated to go to Aus.

    "fuck poor people"?

What a drama-queen . . . and in a thread like this even more so . . . you being the one who constantly moans about posters turning normal threads into personal attacks and shitfights . . . guess what, dickhead - that's you.

Thank you or the red . . . but you must explain what your 'logic and common sense' is, drama queen.

And do try to keep your shit-flinging in the appropriate areas

    Have a green . . . just because.

You are the only one who explains it like this, and that's because you are wrong. Take a healthy population that is at most risk, vaccinate them, and everyone benefits. Not only for the vaccinated population but it also cuts down the opportunities for the virus to mutate into an even more dangerous strain.

Vaccinate a healthy population that is not at immediate risk and all you do is take away vaccines that could have been used more wisely on the front-line.

Having an Australian passport was not part of the equation, having to do quarantine on both sides of the Tasman was the issue. I don't have an Aussie passport. Pre travel bubble I could have gone to Aus. So could anyone on any recognised passport. Once again you don't know what you are talking about. You have some retarded idea that getting a vaccine will mean you can travel everywhere you want because you now have magical fairy dust in your veins.

Your response to logic will be to again call me names and provide no relevant argument. Then you will get your bestest mod friend, that you send the most greens, to delete these posts because they make you look bad.

Our vaccine program has got to be the biggest cock up since Dunkirk. The guys organizing our roll out couldn't organize an erection in a Monastery.

The suspected truth of the matter is that the logistics of carting super cold vaccines around the country is a bit much for us. We saw the tender document 4 months ago. Nobody at the time had any way of doing this. Instead of opening up and telling the truth, the government kept very, very quiet.

We are reportedly a first world country. I could go on about the farce that was the PPE gear coming in the country, when the Government were telling the press that we had plenty. Total arse. I personally know of 5 full charter flights that came in for DHBs. There was probably another 15 that also landed on our shores.

We have done 4% of the population. If these clowns were up front about the problems, then I would probably accept, but they bullshit black was white.

They must have worked it out because I've already had my two jabs. I can't argue that the gubmint didn't fuck some things up. I was also witness to some reality checks that were being painted as all bright and rosy in the media. Especially regarding the PPE. Gubmint fuckups aside, there's still no reason to prioritise the vaccination of low risk populations ahead of countries where people are actually dying of this disease.
