i would expect expats, and especially retirees, will be at the back of the queue.

the thai would create a mighty stink if they saw that old farangs were leaving their barstools in order to get vaccinated before them.

it will probably be the chinese vaccine with its 54% protection as shown by brazilian data.

As I understand it several embassies have already made representations to the MFA to the effect that Thai residents in their countries are receiving free vaccinations according to the public health protocols prevailing and that they expect reciprocity accordingly.

Also, the 54% Chink vaccine efficacy refers to boosted immunity defeating infection, a rate that is not much different to several others, including Oxford Zeneca, but in terms of protection against hospitalisation and death it is near 100% effective.

Are you sure you were a qualified dentist Tax and not some fucked up weirdo hygienist masquerading as one in order to molest victims under general anaesthetic ?

    and

The Pfizer vaccine is 85 per cent effective after a single dose, an Isreali study has found as the country's top scientists endorsed the UK approach of giving out the jabs up to 12 weeks apart.

Researchers at Sheba Medical Centre gave one dose to 7,000 healthcare workers in January and found there was an 85 per cent reduction rate in Covid symptoms after 15-28 days, while overall infections - including asymptomatic cases - fell by 75 per cent.

Prof Arnon Afek, the deputy director general at Sheba, said the studies vindicated the UK's approach where there is a significant time delay between the first and second dose, as it shows that the first dose offers strong protection.

"This ground-breaking research supports the British government’s decision to begin inoculating its citizens with a single dose of the vaccine," he said.

Prof Eyal Leshem, Director of Sheba's Institute for Travel & Tropical Medicine added: "This is the first study assessing effectiveness of a single vaccine dose in real life conditions and shows early effectiveness, even before the second dose was administered."

Professor Neil Ferguson, a senior scientific adviser, told BBC's Today Programme that data on vaccine effectiveness and the speed in which infection, deaths and hospital cases were declining was "looking promising at the moment".

Professor Adam Finn, a member of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), added that "everything is moving in the right direction".

you can take the chinese vaccine if you want, but with the thai level of expertise regarding outsourcing it wouldnt surprise me if the suppliers get rich and you get a saline jab and will have to wait until next year to get it.

most farangs with any sense would source their jabs independently from a reputable hospital, and i understand that hospitals will soon be offering the oxford, the russian gamaleya or the pfizer jabs to paying clients.

As I understand it several embassies have already made representations to the MFA to the effect that Thai residents in their countries are receiving free vaccinations according to the public health protocols prevailing and that they expect reciprocity accordingly.
maybe those with work permits will be included, but can you really see them giving free jabs to non immigrant visa holders?

The Pfizer and other manufacturers in their trials did not include asymptomatic cases in their statistical base whereas the Brazil Butantan Sinovac trials dis which accounted for a drop in efficacy from 74% to 50%.

But this is only to serve to mislead, as you seem intent to do by your cut 'n paste regime in preference to saying something intelligent .

The point is, all the fucking vaccines offer a near 100% protection against hypoxia led hospital admission and death. And let's face it, that is all we care about, not a fucking sniffle.

Given the Chinks created the fucking virus who better to defeat?

i am so pleased that you have managed to convince yourself that the chinese vaccine, the one you will probably be eventually receiving, is in no way inferior to the pfizer, the oxford or the gamaleya.

..... but given a choice, which vaccine would you take?..... and why?

Seekingasylum .... making all the best choices since 1929.

Then moaning incessantly about what he's chosen...but insisting it's great when asked directly about it.

    Most odd.

I'd take the Johnson & Johnson. Single shot and easily stored in conventional referidgeration.

Also, The AZ Oxford is unreliable for older folks.

Also, it's part British owned and I wouldn't give them fuckers the fluff out off my navel.

There are a number of respectful posters here on TD which make it worthwhile to visit and post.

There are of course the uneducated posters who, as in many sites, believe a constant repletion of their opinions makes them real buddies with their entourage. They prefer the gang culture as opposed to the leader culture.

    C'est la vie.

Maybe not a bad as you think.

J&J is another option for you if it bothers you, too.

Pfizer and BioNTech also announced on Friday that their vaccine can be stored at standard freezer temperatures for up to two weeks, potentially expanding the number of smaller pharmacies and doctors’ offices that could administer the vaccine, which now must be stored at ultracold temperatures.
