I've heard of Herpes Simplex- but is there any Herpes Complex?
I've heard of Herpes Simplex- but is there any Herpes Complex?
. . . the latter has issues and needs counselling
It is more of a psychological issue than a medical one, so yes. Moreso genitally - nobody suggests kissing through a sheet of cling film because their date disclosed they get cold sores sometimes. Yet, most type 1 is spread by people with cold sores giving oral sex. So many people get genital herpes from people that don't even have genital herpes.
A lot of money was spent on creating the stigma after the antiviral drug acyclovir was created by GlaxxoWelcome in the mid 70's but nobody was really that interested due to the fact it is medically so unimportant and considered nothing more than an annoying skin condition - which is still the attitude of herpes outside of the UK, US, CAN, AUS and NZ. You won't find many Europeans who have the same dreaded attitude to the word 'herpes'.
Most of what Google has to offer on the subject is inaccurate, badly written and researched or downright untrue. The truth is rather boring and by age 25 7/10 people have the virus. Two thirds won't ever notice they have it and if you've ever had a cold sore you're highly unlikely to ever notice having it genitally - which is as good as immunity.
Google Images will show severe cases and worse case scenarios, but you get that with anything - thrush, chicken pox (herpes varicella) the common cold - all of which are also incurable. In the summertime we all get pollen in our system but not everyone will get hay fever and only a small percentage will suffer severe symptoms.
I need to go back to sleep now. I'll do a proper post on the subject at some point with a list of verified facts with accompanying sources. I did actually have a helpline call from someone in Bangkok in November who was quite concerned. Correct information is the cure for the complex.

"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly. It's the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out. I'd rather be in, in a good system. That's where my discontent comes from: being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Didn't your grannie pop her clogs and leave you a stash enabling you to ponce around in feckless indolence and the pursuit of ephemera?
Do you still keep in contact with Blake, Butters and Moog?
Those threads were always entertaining but these days TD is pretty much a repository for those who derived their incomes from manual labour and demonstrate a level of wit that ranges from the merely retarded to the quite stupid.
Hope you are still doing the video travelogues Scampy

I'm still in regular contact with Blake7 and he's still a snob.
You never struck me as a Member who needed to be hand fed.

Yours or hers?
Either way, no.
I always thought that Blake was the more grounded, dependable chap with normal inclinations whereas you other three were driven by demons not entirely tamed.
Butters is back in France, you are in London but what of the other two?
I don't associate with The Moog but he's in Hong Kong.
Blake and I are total opposites but the friendship has lasted. I spoke with him briefly the other day. He's still based in Thailand.
The moment I returned to the UK things went to shit. The word 'Brexit' wasn't coined until a couple of days after my return mid 2016. The country has gone downhill ever since.
kentish town and much of londonistan has been going downhill for years. other parts of the country much less so if at all.
Nonsense, London was greatly invigorated once the Blair government got into its stride and Britain boomed until 2008 when the banksters fucked the world but even then as long as you had a job life was pretty good and London again became a mecca for anyone with money looking to have a good time but the music stopped in 2016 and that was that.
Tax, you're an old northerner wallowing in complacency and immunised from reality by the Brexit Koolaid soma and years away cocooned in your Hua Hin dormitory.
England is shit now, but only because it is celebrating the victory of the stupid, the xenophobic, the parochial, the ignorant, the prejudiced and the bigoted over the forces of sweet reason, decency, creativity, honesty and integrity. But the epicentre of this ghastliness is among the shires and the lumpen moron class, denizens not of London but an infestation blighting middle England. In short Tax, England has become shit because you are cvunt in a majority of cvunts but we decent folk, Scampy and I, will once again vanquish the Tory filth and reboot the time when life was fun and full of promise, not as it is now.
She certainly ushered in a decade of reformation that increased unemployment, destroyed the country's manufacturing base and replaced it all with the foundation for a new economy based on debt management. Is that what you mean? The big bang of 1988 it precipitated was short-lived and led to the crash of 1991-1997. Lot of blood on the floor then with thousands of repos, negative equity and a long, sullen silence fell on the universe.
