    ASQ hotel prices for Thais.

    Quick question...

Is there dual pricing for quarantine hotels in Thailand?

How much do Thais pay compared to foreigners?

Free if you pick the state, but I think you cannot chose where. Might be a hotel. Might be an army camp. You can opt out and select, a hotel but then you pay.

Thai waiting to come home from wherever can speed up the process and jump the queue awaiting their embassy certificate to fly by opting for the self-pay quarantine hotel. A friend of the wingman refused to pay on principle ( god knows why, her hubby is effectively a millionaire ) but got lucky by being sent to a Jomtien hotel with seaview and a balcony.

ASQs are now confined to Bangkok I am told and generallyy range from 50,000 baht to 200,000. It occurs to me that the hotels offering a package of 60,000 are actually poor value when compared to those doing a deal for 100,000 which offer accommodation with a balcony and better cuisine.

Still, it is pretty silly forcing a quarantine on folk who can confirm a negative test and a vaccination certificate but then, this is The Age of The Stupid.

Oh I'm sorry, have you discovered a vaccine that is 100% effective?

    Please share the details.

^ Plus there is still no data on whether being vaccinated can stop you transmitting the disease.....

^ When I had my Covid test a few days ago in Sweden I asked the doc just this question.

He said that current thinking is that vaccination will vastly reduce the infectious period (if you've been exposed to the virus) since the coronavirus won't thrive in your body and will be quickly beaten off by the well prepared immune system. However there will still be an infectious period in the interim, but how long that is, is under debate and study.

Yeah this really seems to be a topic where not knowing wtf you're talking about is not putting people off from doing so.

"They should do this...." "They should do that...."

    Skidmarkitis is rife.
