Thai Ear Massage-Have You Had One?

Wondering how many Teak Door members have gotten to the absolute zen level of village life where they've experienced an ear massage. My wife showed it to me years ago and it causes a sensation to your very soul. Two hairs are plucked from your head and they are twisted together between two palms, and then it is inserted to your ear drum and twisted. I guess it is popular with kids growing up, or at least was until cell phones took over. Have you had one? Not something you would forget!

^^ I've had the outer part of my ears massaged as part of a regular Thai massage but never had anything like you described, thailazer.

Such associated techniques......ear cleaning, maintenance and massages have been commonplace practiced by the Chinese for ages.

    The whole ball of wax.

You cannot surprise our experts (Kenners) what they do not know about real Thai life. One of them - clairvoyant - even can see from very far what the Thai doctors wear...

Yes, it tickles. If the offending masseuse was named Tess it would have been funny. But it wasn't. Her name was Dtuk.
Dtuk tickles doesn't sound as humourous.

It certainly seems unique in the world! I think slow times on hot summer days in the village and kids will likely try anything. I know I've felt time slam against a brick wall when I've had to spend time there with nothing to do.

The Japanese use this little thingy to tickle their eardrums. Doesn’t work well for Caucasians unless we clean out our wet ear wax first.

Seen this done many times, PH.

Although in the immortal words of an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist, the only thing that you should put in your ears is your elbows.

Yikes, that thing looks dangerous! At least with hair you can't go poking right through the ear drum. I'll stick with the Thai method. Err, if it ever comes again.
