When the abos start putting more into consolidated revenue than they take out that's when they will have a bigger say in what's what.
Until then the parasite maggots should shut their trap and make an effort to do something useful.
Just for context, Australians have a habit of shorting names ...
Aussie slang: why we shorten words - Australian GeographicWHEN IT COMES TO language, Aussies have a unique style. We wear boardies, eat bickies, drink coldies and have barbies. We are posties and pollies, ambos, vegos, Salvos and journos. And, if we’re feeling trendy, probs even chat on our mobes. Not all of our diminutives are exclusive to Australia, but with more than 4300 recorded in our lexicon, Aussies use more clipped words than any other English speakers.
So the shortening the word Aboriginal to Abo is not as derogatory as it may seem to those not living in Australia.
Technically it's Aboriginal and Thursday Islanders ... "Thursday Islanders" are often referred to as "T I" and that is not remotely considered derogatory.
Newbie Dave
There are considerably more derogatory terms than abo, a common nickname and shortening used by the native population as much as by us colonial invaders.
What about Black Fella?
Is that still a thing?
Asking for a friend (not Crocodile Dundee).
What's worse?
Being called an Australian or a Frenchie?
Neither have much modern culture either way, so...
Is it OK to call Pakistani cricket team Paki's?
Just short for Pakistani's. Ok or not?
YEEAAH fuck tradition, because now we have precedent for 120 years in the future to change it again. LOL
