    Just a recent bit from Pfizer;

    Pfizer said in a statement that there is "no data" to demonstrate that a single dose of its coronavirus vaccine will provide protection from infection after 21 days.

    I dunno if it would have been better to have had it rather than this cold. As least i'd probably be immune now, or not?

    If I do catch covid , well , I'm robust enough not to die it ( probably)
    And I'd enjoy reeking retribution on society, especially elements I abhor
    Yes ! I'd force myself from my sick bed every day and stagger about on my last legs, spreading it to all and sundry.
    Why miss all that fun for a painful stab in the arm.

    Short update and some information.

    She’ll be giving vaccine shots to others at her hospital and monitoring some (who have just received the vaccine) also, but will not be vaccinated.
    She gave well over 200 shots today to hospital employees with the help of another nurse and a pharmacist.

    You’ll receive a card with the date, vaccine lot number and person who gave you the shot. Your name is recorded and is kept in a data base.

    My Mom got her first jab yesterday; no adverse reaction other than a bit sore at injection site.

    The vaccine now will be given 3 months apart in UK, hmm don't see that being much use for people hoping to travel.

    Seems to make a lot of sense and is likely to be an effective solution to the shortage of vaccine. The companies who developed and tested the vaccines naturally cover their asses by pointing out that this has not been widely tested and reject responsibility.

    The seasonal flu vaccine protects against the influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming season. Most flu vaccines in the United States protect against four different flu viruses (“quadrivalent”); an influenza A (H1N1) virus, an influenza A (H3N2) virus, and two influenza B viruses. There are also some flu vaccines that protect against three different flu viruses (“trivalent”); an influenza A (H1N1) virus, an influenza A (H3N2) virus, and one influenza B virus. Two of the trivalent vaccines are designed specifically for people 65 and older to create a stronger immune response.

    Bit like you did when you thought putting "Fact:" in front of something makes it true then.

    But then again when you are predicting in February what might be prevalent in December, it's obviously not going to be an exact science, especially when the chinkies throw you curveballs.

    Well my grandmother is now totally inoculated. Reported side effects were a slightly sore arm. Sometime next month is when some vaccines are due to arrive in Mongolia,

    An update.

    My daughter is still giving vaccine shots and has received her shot under duress. She told the administration/doctors her shot should be given to someone who had a preexisting condition, wasn’t young and healthy. The hospital administration/doctors didn’t agree and told her they couldn’t lose her.

    Couple questions (of many) they will ask you before they give you the vaccine,……..do you have allergies and have you ever had a serious reaction after receiving a vaccination?

    If you know you have a reaction to bee stings,………tell them. You might want to plan a couple nights stay at the hospital after you receive the shot. This isn’t based on any study, but it might be helpful to some.

    Just for fun.

    When you sit down to receive your shot you’ll notice prepared needles filled with the vaccine, unless you’re “different”.

    If you’re “different” they’ll pull out a much larger needle.

    Don’t ask why if you notice! You might put that person who will be injecting you in an uncomfortable position.

    The reason. They need to reach muscle tissue.

    Have you tried the Vaccine Queue Calculator to see when you're likely to get it? You might need to wait until the summer.

    Vaccine Queue Calculator for the UK

    The UK government has published a nine-point priority list of groups that will get a COVID vaccine in the first phase. Let's take a look at the list:

    Residents in a care home for older adults and their carers;
    All those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers;
    All those 75 years of age and over;
    All those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals;
    All those 65 years of age and over;
    All individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality. Unpaid carers who receive carer's allowance or are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person;
    All those 60 years of age and over;
    All those 55 years of age and over; and
    All those 50 years of age and over.

    I will and it should be a prerequisite that anyone travelling on a plane should have a special stamp stating they've had it
    This is the part i don't get, why do you want anyone that sais "no" to be unable to travel.

    I am literally last in the queue.

    Glad I can probably just buy it in Thailand.

    Maybe if we don't allow anyone to get a job without a vac. then we can all live in harmony?
