The things we do for love....

I hope he got his legover before he got his collar felt!

A man who rode a jet ski across the Irish Sea from Scotland to the Isle of Man has been jailed for breaching COVID-19 laws.

Dale McLaughlan, 28, spent four and a half hours riding the watercraft, which he had never ridden before, from Scotland's Isle of Whithorn to Ramsey, at Isle of Man, on Friday.

The Scottish man, from North Ayrshire, travelled the 40km journey to visit his girlfriend, who he met on a night out in September.

Under the Isle of Man's COVID-19 laws, non-residents can't enter the island without special permission.

McLaughlan was previously granted permission to work as a roofer at the island for four weeks after isolating for 14 days, which is when he met his partner.

But subsequent applications to return had been rejected.

So the poor laddie couldn't get a leg over on the Isle of Whithorn (not even an island!) or couldn't drive to the local pub on Saturday night.

Love or obsession? I've done pretty stupid things too, but have a hard time figuring out what's love, and what's just crazy.

I once slept rough on Khao San Road to impress an Aussie chick.

    Didn't even get a shag.

Love is a wilful extension of the self for the benefit of another. It is quiet. It is unconditional. It often goes unnoticed.

Crazy is Tom Cruise jumping all over the couch.

    Meanwhile, back on topic...

Sounds like an even crazier stunt than the ones I tried in my youth. However, I managed to get to the honey pot and then crash back to earth with no regrets....

I swam from Malaysia to Singapore to see a girl. It's only about 500 metres across there near the causeway, but I did enter illegally. Would have been in deep shit if I was caught.

I posted about it about ten years ago but ENT trolled me. However it's true.

Ah, the covid outbreak of 2010 . . . forced border closures between SG and MY . . . I remember it well.

You are simply so full of shit . . . there and back undetected. I doubt you've ever even been there.

In his lies, he forgot that they have fenced off all the coast. He simply could not have.

Ah yes, the days of the Raj . . . when he was but a young man in his thirties, stowed away on a tramp steamer to London but he miscalculated and slid off in Penang and hitched his way to Johor Baru . . . where he packed a pollit bowl as 'ta pau' in case he had to fight his way out of a prickly situation.

Not only fenced off but heavily patrolled, video-screened etc... And where does he get out on the SG side? A lot of it is government property . . . Added to which it is over 1km, not 500m.

Why does he do this to himself time and again . . .
