    ^ Good question. You can get a pretty decent shot using a DSLR on a telescope these days. Just as long as the telescope is programmed to stay fixed to the galaxy.

    Yes, it does.

    It's called synchronous rotation. The moon spins on its axis in the same length of time it takes to orbit Earth. It's tidally locked to Earth, so we only see one side (the near side) +/- 8%, despite it rotating/spinning.
