New Zealand National Elections - 2020, as in now

Elections in NZ . . . nor quite as famous (noe long) as the US elections.

Labor will win, no doubt, and rule without minor parties getting in their way/keeping the bastards honest.

The country is doomed - 'How to empty a country's koffers in ten easy lessons by Cindy 'I Buy Votes' Ardern'.

    I voted. 'nuff said.

Yes, as a PR - which is fairly well automatic with an Aussie passport, took me a year after applying after we arrived. Picking up my citizenship papers and passport end of this year. That makes it three passports and one PR.

I didn't vote for her but Skidmark's post just - again - shows what an utter cretin he is. Anything to get a dig in, to show everyone how clueless he is . . . yesterday it was making fun that we were flying coach on our way back from Nelson. Aside from the fact that it's a small airfield and the only planes that fly from this regional port are twin props . . . there is NO different class, not that we would have flown C for this anyway..

Then his wise comment that NZ hasn't entered the 'jet' age. He really is a moron.

Sadly he now posts his shit in every thread whereas other halfwits limit themselves to the DH, which is where he belongs

I am somewhat annoyed that as a NZ citizen, I cannot vote. I haven't been back to NZ for over three years and that disqualifies me.

If it wasn't for Covid I would have travelled back to qualify and vote.

For what it is worth, I would have vote yes to both referendums and probably voted National.

One of the finest sets of Nags teeth I have seen outside the equine world. No idea what her policies are, except to flash them. Shame, she'd make a great Potus.

The Aussies have already claimed her. Her popularity across the ditch is higher than it is in NZ.

If a resident or citizen has not stepped foot in New Zealand for over three years the person is ineligible to vote.

Probably not. After the Key years and with Judith Collins now in charge and that waste of space Gerry Brownlee as possible deputy PM, no way I could tick National.

Ah, I didn't find that info. I guess I'll be ok with my 3in/3away/3in/3away months

Mind you, I think it is odd or a country to allow PRs to vote. As far as I am concerned only citizens should have that privilege

Yes, she has . . . but on her ow she is quite the opposite of smooth. During the leaders' debates she was quite miserable, as she usually is when required to answer non-scripted questions

Labour winning big at around 50%. National under "Crusher" Collins just over 26%. Green candidate Chlöe Swarbrick wins in Auckland Central. Way to go latte liberals!

Nick Smith out in Nelson and the awful Gerry Brownlee gets voted out in Ilam.

Fucking ACT looks to get 8% though. Bastards.

Yea . . . not a good thing. Every large party needs a smaller one to keep it honest . . . get ready for tax hikes, inflation up the wazoo, price increases, more regional taxes, higher petrol taxes, more strikes and the resulting pay increases etc etc . . .

I've always been a left of centre voter . . . but not here. Not because of ideology, as Ardern Labour doesn't have an ideology, rather because of buying the electorate and appeasement at all costs, be it unions, Maori demands (Waitangi will be renegotiated bit by bit) etc

Not a good place for the future and another 20% of the population will flee to Australia again after covid has been dealt with

David Seymour is the best thing that happened in NZ Politics. I hope his End of Life choice gets through. This is not the ACT of old.

Yup - scratching for votes wherever she, and it is she as she IS the Labour Party, can. The cut-off time sentenced to is also arbitrary.

Again, it is just one person, though. And my wife works with one of his oiks who will go to Wellington - a right obnoxious prick, one can only hope he is not representative of the lot of them.

Well, one vote of mine worked, the other . . . not so much

    Why shouldn't they?

Jail = doing the time for the crime.

Why should they lose their rights as a citizen?
