How are you celebrating St Paddy’s?

Irish stew for dinner and enough for lunch tomorrow, when the actual day starts and all.

A beer with dinner, but none o that green coloured shite - have some pride - and then a whiskey to follow.

And that’s just the warm up...

Plastic Paddies, most have never stepped foot on the Emerald Isle.

Aye but me great granny was from County Cork, to be sure.

Still never let that get in the way of a potato stew and a galleon of Guinness

^ I'm as Irish as I am an Anglo = zero. Prost.

(If given the choice I'd choose Irish, to be sure to be sure)

Anyway. I'm going to an Asian buffet for lunch, and not wearing anything green. There may well be some cabbage in the stir fry veg, but that isn't bluddy deliberate.

Well, being of Irish stock (my grandfather), I was all ready to break open the Guinness etc.

But then my brother in the UK sent me a family tree that he's researching, having obtained the results of a DNA test from ancestry.com. The surprising news (for me and him), is that we are actually direct descendants of ashkenazi jews from Romania......

So I'm waiting for Passover later this month before I celebrate

I used to live in Ireland, but sadly no Irish Heritage.

On my Father's side, Great Grandparents from Scotland

On my Mother's side, Great Grandparents from Germany.

    I look more German.

When I fly Lufthansa ... the welcoming air crew ALWAYS speak German to me.

    ---

I love Ireland ... the folk, the music, the craic.

But, FFS, it's called the Emerald Isle, because it rains so much!

Particularly in Galway where I used to live.

I can't wait to return and revisit my fondest memories ...
