    Ruth Ginsburg dead at 87

Don't see the point of putting anything in SC these days, so here will do.

Just in- US Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg has died. Sad news, in more ways than one.

The GOP will, of course, try their utmost to appoint a right wing Justice who secretly hates poor people and blacks to replace her- but with the Presidential election looming, the Democrats will try their utmost to stymie and delay, so that they can appoint a more lib'rul Justice. Just like the GOP did last election. Let the Games begin.

How so? A successor will be picked before then, McConnell will see to that.

Just the last piece in the fascist playbook. Good luck America, you'll be lucky to make it to Christmas.

I truly hoped she'd make it through January.

The GOP can't complain they set the precedent in denying Gorash(sp?) a confirmation hearing.

Which is to say they'll complain bitterly. Because hypocrites.

it's certainly possible, but by no means a sure thing.
murkowski and romney have already stated they won't vote in favor of a nominee this close to an election.
gardner, collins and tillis are going to be under extreme pressure.

WTF? i can't decide if that's more idiotic or ignorant.

you're level of understanding of how the US govt is designed and operates is similar to that of a golden retriever.

one can only hope you have a better grasp on the workings of the thunder bay city hall.

It is horrifying news she just needed to hold on for three more months. The truth of the matter is though she should have retired in Obama's first term the fact that she didn't was purely selfish.

i'd wager mcconnell waits until after the election to hold the vote.

it will gin up the base to go to the polls and also provide cover to collins, gardner and tillis.

if trump wins or loses there is still plenty of time to hold a vote before inauguration.

in 2018, lindsey graham goes on the record stating that he as judiciary committee chair will not hold a vote for a supreme court nominee in the final year of trump's term if the primary process has started.

    start at 21:10

Think he will try to drive it through asap. A 6-3 supreme court would be very beneficial on the number of election related issues that are likely to come up.

Such a judge can be in vegetative state many more years, however, the position will be kept as long he/she declared alive. No need to be active?

    possible, of course.

but he might not even have the votes......and it's to his political advantage to wait until the after the election.

So you think it should be loaded with judges that only share your beliefs, and not the beliefs of the whole country? You're starting to sound like a Republican Ray.

^^going to be interesting either way. Read that if they do appoint before the election and lose, dems might appoint 4 more if they also control the senate.
