Original sentence was 6 - 12. Reduced to 10. He'll do the full bit. Additionally, the fat Atty. who prosecuted him is now the Presidential Spokesmam; young jarhead is screwed.

^Was only 19 when he went in...will be almost 30 by the time he gets home. Doubt that he has much of a life awaiting him......convicted murderer with a dishonorable discharge.

derogatory slurs for nationality and sexual identity.
the murder victims name was Jennifer Laude.
but yeah, let's all shed a tear for this guy...
Death of Jennifer Laude - WikipediaLaude, a trans woman, met Pemberton, a United States Marine from New Bedford, Massachusetts, at the Ambyanz disco bar in Olongapo on the evening of October 11, 2014. According to police and witnesses, they subsequently went to Celzone Lodge, a nearby motel. Thirty minutes after checking in, Pemberton left the motel, leaving the door to the room ajar. Staff found Laude's naked body, partially covered from the waist down, with her neck blackened with strangulation marks and her head in a toilet bowl.
he was 19 when he committed murder.
how old was the murder victim?
fuck off.
what a shame...the next 50 years of the convicted murderer's life aren't going to be perfect.

As a final note, convicted murderer Pemberton was just ordered freed after serving 6/10. Off to a life of obscurity.

Ladyboy in Thailand. Bennyboy in Phil when I was there mid 60s.
Was fooled myself couple times but had no thoughts of killing.
Better to establish as a drinking buddy if you want a local friend who knows all the ins n outs of the scene.
One wonders how safe this guy is on the street if is strangling people in his teens.
I'd expected your post to be thanking him for his service.
President Duterte's decision to pardon Pemberton is a strange move. The Olangapo Court that sentenced him had already said he was to be released...the release from a 6-10 year sentence was based on number juggling of time served, pre-trial time served, and good behavior. The victim's family protested the good conduct time, claiming he had participated in no jail activities serving to rehabilitate - bit hard to do when in solitary in an Army facility.
Duterte's decision puts him directly at odds with his presidential spokesman, who was the lead lawyer for the victim. It also opens Duterte up to accusations of being influenced by the US, which has shown little interest in the case following the conviction years ago.
It's a move that I view as unnecessary and one that is not playing well here. He should have left it in the hands of the courts.
^True. Duterte is unpredictable. He is certainly not a friend of the US, as numerous actions over the past four years have shown. Why he chose to get involved is a mystery.
He's been kissing chinky arse for the last few years, and they've been walking all over him as a result. He might have made some money out of it but it doesn't look good when they can walk all over Phillippines territory with impunity.
Perhaps he is trying to get back in favour with the US, although a couple of months before an election is probably not the ideal time to do it.
