Road rage. Do you get it ?

Poll is anonymous. So don't worry if you are one

I don't. I prefer the Thai/Asia way and I don't engage other people on the road with hand gestures , rolled eyes or shaking of the head or one finger salutes.

"muh cut me off !" rage heads always say. What does that even mean ? Was there room or was there not ? You have brakes

I just say to myself, that was a little close. No harm, no foul. And that's it

If you ever thought to use your rear view mirror, you would realise what a dick driver you are, and how much carnage your blissful ignorance has caused.

You should try the sandpit, you spend more time looking in your mirrors than forward.

I can get a little competitive. It is the Kart racer in me resurfacing after all those years. Or it never really went away.

"You may go past if you want. But I am not changing my road position or making way or making allowance for you to do so"

In very slow traffic if a guy has to cross three lanes to make a right turn OK.

I can't see out of the back, I can only see in side mirrors.

Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?

I understand why it happens if that's what you mean.

The driving standards don't seem to be quite what they used to be...

You drive slow in the fast lane ? I usually tail those ppl a little and then pass on the left. I don't gawk at them, I just look ahead and pass. They are just dumbasses. Whatever

I don't to be honest. I have far bigger problems in my life on my mind than to waste mental energy getting into it with ppl on the road

You must have a pretty perfect life if you are getting all wound up on the road

^ Empathising is not the same as doing.

The code of conduct I was taught is for the stronger to give way to the weaker. In Germany I give way to all of them...same in Thailand...

    Pointless here in Thailand.

I spend most days laughing at the discourteous drivers that I share the tarmac with.

Culturally it's not a thing anyway. Even if someone does something crazy

You're not serious? Many Thai's keep all that anger inside them for when they're on the road.

    Hardly surprising, really.

Ouch! Culture is precisely why you're advised not to make gestures, because you never know how the retard is going to respond. Don't forget, a retard doesn't know he's retarded, so to him he's done nothing wrong and you are the provocateur.

Early in my Thai days there was a road rage case where one guy killed another, and though witnesses agree the killer had triggered the situation by also being an idiot driver, the judge accepted his mitigation for reduced sentencing that he was provoked and lost face when the victim called him names.

Hardly a day goes by on the road that I don't mouth 'monkey' to myself, and get on with life; unless it's a farang, in which case I might give a sarky smile and thumbs up.

My lane discipline is OK. Don't usually drive more than 120. No need.

If I get any buzz from driving it is from lateral g-force not speed. No g-force in the fast lane.

ime the worst farang drivers are concentrated in Pattaya. They are at least as bad as Thais.

My time there taught me to forget about informal signalling with hands, too.

When's the last time you remember a Thai driver rolling down the window and yelling swear words at another driver ?

I drove around long enough in Thailand with people to know this. You can basically force yourself into a lane and the guy you "cut off" will pretend nothing happened. These kinds of things would result in shear terror if done on a north American street

They simply don't engage with other motorists no matter what really happens. It's basically the exact opposite in north America. Every little fuckup perceived wrong , results in fingers , long hunks , hand gestures of all kinds , spitting out the window , yelling and swearing out the window ect

Asians in general are like this. I'm from Vancouver. Asians everywhere. They don't engage this way. I laugh when I see some white guy giving an Asian the business. Does he really expect them to react ? They don't.

In north America it is completely unacceptable to communicate with the vehicles horn. The horn is a big FUCK YOU only.

In Thailand , you can honk for practical reasons . To let someone know you are there

My missus gets angry at me if I show signs of anger towards others on the road. She reckons most Thai motorists are tooled up.

You are just a pussy footing white knuckling farang. Thais drive fast and efficiently. The flow of traffic is good. You have to pay attention or you will get run over

This is why farangs are all hot headed knobs behind the wheel. They have all these rules and norms going around in their head and when one of them gets broken , road rage ensues.

    Thias just fucking drive.
