Reading Squireels post the Thai baht has been the same thereabouts for the last 35 yrs duh

ask yourself numb nuts what could the money buy your 35 yrs ago compared to what it buys you now.

    Beggars belief your ignorance.

after 1997 the pound was around the 70 mark and continued to be around 70 until 2006.

I wasn't in Thailand 35 yrs ago and neither was you. so comparing is pure stupidity.

the pound has lost nearly 48% since 2006 so the poor fuckers on pensions in Thailand have lost a lot.

so stop spouting your usual shit, you ain't far off your pension see how you feel when it happens.

Different matter from the exchange rate.

Why is it nec.....ach, sorry.....can't do it.....

You're such a fucking idiot it's unreal sometimes.

I was in Thailand 28 years ago when a student told me that British people were 39 times richer than Thais because there were 39 baht to the pound.

You're about at her level of understanding, but to be fair to her she was about 19 and at Uni.

And didn't you post a few hours ago that you're ignoring me, you pathetic wretch?

    Read this slowly, wretch.

    It...was...2006...that...was...exceptional.

    Not...now.

Wait 'til he feels the same with the Kip - certainly during these trying times.
It's less pretty up there when dependent on the fantasy of foreign exchange rates.

I see a pattern here. selling too quickly. Impatience.
That house was just to live cheap in. Nothing else

I still have most of my money so I'd like to think I'll be fine. Will just take 25 years instead of 10-15 years

So, am I dumb to believe what dirtydog posted about panama hat? I'd imagine the founder of TD had a pretty good handle on who was multi-nicking.

What say you den mother AO? Or ignore that and tell us how dumb Chico/YD/Klondyke/NPT/Backspin/Jack Off/Oh Oh/ etc. etc. is for the umpteenth time.

^^Buying a house in order to live in it can be a tough concept for a TD magnate to grasp.

Are you a Thai expat? I love this place, There is no other place in the world I would rather live, (at my age), retirement here is a blessing, If I ever feel a little down I can just walk around in the Mu and enjoy the smiles and love from my neighbors calling me in to sit down with them.

Chico made a legit point. There was a time (97-2006) that the limeys lived high on the hog.

Yep. It's a proper human habitat. That's why it just feels different when you land in East Asia. But some ppl would just say you are here for the whores. Full stop

But he's talking like somehow he's been done an injustice and everything's gone wrong and..and..it's just not fair.

As if somehow by divine right the exchange rate should be favouring him more.

    It's quite pathetic.

I think he's serving it as a warning as well. The Anglo world is really going crazy with the debt and money printing. While Thailand is trucking along with its trade surplus.

We could very well be looking at a 15 handle on the Thai baht in 10-15 years.

And ignoring the fact that his own choices led him to become a short order cook without an education or steady job...

I am complaining that the Boomers bailed themselves out in 2008 and yet again in 2020, which has allowed them to run up the economic score. On 3 generations now. First X'ers , then millennials , now Zoomers. It gives anyone who's not a Boomer , no chance

The Silent/Greatest gens didn't run up the score for even one generation.

"oh this all evens out in the end" no it doesn't. Not when you keep bailing yourselves out u fuckin cowards

Thai baht is now exactly the same as it was 18 years ago, (Aus dollars) I did enjoy the time up to 30 baht, but fact is you have to be prepared for the ups and downs, be flexible and move with the swings, spend less, save more, Either way if you have a permanent abode here, its still much cheaper than living back in Aus.
