    หมวกปานามาเป็นคนไทย

    The natural way to citizenship
First and foremost any child born in Thailand is automatically a Thai citizen even though the parents may be foreign.

Fantastic English language skills for a Thai.
    สามารถพูดภาษาไทยได้ไหม

    Yes, rhetorical.

And you're so pathetically obvious that I put the acronym in brackets just for you.

3 months in Pattaya/Jomtien '88, returned for a 4-week holiday in Dec 2k during which the germ was born, and after another couple of visits over the next months decided it's a nice enough place to retire.

Tried a couple of weeks in Pattaya, but always preferred Jomtien.

Just chalked up 13 years living in Thailand out of the past 15 years, I don't consider myself an expat but the 18 months I spent back home for 2018/19 I felt like an alien there.

No choice . . . there are exceptions. Children born in Thailand under diplomatic posting (that'd be me) - nope. Thailand doesn't have a full jus soli law.
My brother was born in Nigeria . . . same situation, also no Nigerian citizenship but I don't believe he is sad about it

But just think how much money he could have made sending out those "I am the son of the late Sonny Abacha" emails.
