Screw the state government and their stupid speed cameras

As Teakdoor is full of rogues and ne'er-do-wells, I am turning to the badder of you for advice.

Recently I visited the Southernmost part of Australia and drove a car back to Queensland, and the owner just informed me that they have received a speeding fine in the mail. Apparently I was doing a tad over 120 kph in (presumably) a 100 zone. I gave the owner my details.

However it is a frigging lot of money ...$ 320. Well, screw them ! The Victorian government is notorious for being cnuts with speed fines. So when the fine is redirected to me, I am thinking of telling them something like "another guy was driving it".

This will, of course, fall on deaf ears..... unless I do something sneaky like look up death notices here in Queensland and choose a recently deceased guy, and say that he came back from Victoria in my car.

    Can this go tits-up ?

As far as I can see, the only problem is finding someone whose presence or absence here was not noticeable, and COULD have been in Victoria for some reason, unbeknown to his family, and shared the driving back. Perhaps some recently-deceased homeless guy, if I can find one ?

Yeah seems like a whole lot of hassle that could potentially land you in all kinds of legal jeopardy and probably become an issue for the car owner too.

    Just pay the fine, tightwad.

A British MP got jailed recently for trying to shift her speeding offence onto her brother. He got jailed too.

    yeah, good plan.

read that back to yourself out loud...after you give yourself a good punch in the face, start thinking of ways that you can convince anyone who read it that you started this thread as a joke or windup.

You could find a homeless guy that fits the bill and off him, that should clear your ticket.

As he thinks $320 is a lot of money I thought Latindancer WAS a homeless guy.

This is gonna be another one of those instances where Latinprancer reacts with shock and butthurt outrage that nobody is on board with his ludicrous plan, gets all indignant, and whines like a little girl.

Tell them you were driving while being held at gunpoint by a man crouched down behind the back seat. It's called the Smollett alibi. Make sure you let them know your nickname is LATINdancer.

Latindancer, you will be doing porridge when they catch you.
Did you ever hear of federal court Judge Einfeld,he was caught doing what you proposed and did 3 years porridge, did I say porridge.
He lost his job and pension as well,Govt gets pissed off at fraud over traffic offences.
You were nuts to speed 20 over. covert and overt cameras are everywhere and the Govt loves the revenue,it's a prick of a country when you
have to watching your speedo or use cruise because it's all about busting you doing 5k over, they are pricks.

What you can do, LD, is, without admitting or denying, ask for the photo to clarify who was driving. If it was you, and there were no other cars in the pic, then you should do the right thing and not lump the fine onto the owner.

YES. I went through a period when my job demanded I covered ridiculous distances in the NT. The NT Gov gave me a nice new Prado and off I went. A month or two later my assistant in the office in Darwin called to tell me I'd picked up a few fines. I sought advice from some aged Territorians involved in the same business and the response was unanimous; pay the fines, and pay them quick.
I did. It hurt, but I'm glad I did.
The consequences of refusing to pay were dire.

A fair cop is a fair cop.

What were you driving another fellas car that far for?

If you were doing him a favour ask him to go 50/50 with you.

What he should do his take his punishment like a fucking man instead of trying to wheedle out of a paltry fine.

If you can't stand the heat, don't do the crime.

    Or something.
