True, but America ain't got much choice! Looks like ole sleepy Joe then. Kanye, probably too little too late- and that assumes he isn't taking the piss. There doesn't seem much ground level support for his bid at this prenatal stage, and he needs to act fast, as in real fast, to get things off the ground. With the current state of (not just) US politics though, I'm well inclined towards something outside of the two party monopoly. No doubt that colors my thinking. But no bullshit- I do have a modicum of respect for the bloke.

    Puhleez amerka, anyone but trump.

Yeah, here are his view on vaccines, among other things, in a bizarre interview with Forbes magazine.

    Take it away Kanye...

    Awesome.

It was the 'Anyone But...' that got the giant orange turd-bag elected in the first place.

Oh yeah, and he also envisages a White House organizational structure based on the successful model used by the nation of Wakanda.

Yes that Wakanda. The fictional one from 'The Black Panther' movie:

Kanye West opened for U2 in Adelaide late 2006, I had never heard of him, I got there 1 hour b4 U2 came on.The stadium was still virtually empty - looks like no one else bothered to go and see him either.

I would expect his campaign rallies to have the same level of interest.

This is the part that does my head in completely. In a country of +/- 350 million people and producing so many of the smartest and brightest minds in the world in almost every field, it's come to Trump vs Biden vs some fucking rapper as the best options to run the country? Really????.

Just on that part though, I remember around the time Trump was first doing all his fuckery with immigration (clamping down on illegals on the one hand and making legitimate immigration more difficult on the other) there was a very good point made in an article I read that it would hurt the US in the long-term because most of the academics, scientists, researchers etc. in the US are immigrants.

And if you think about it that's really always been the case since the days Alexander Graham Bell through to Nazi scientists working on the moon program to everyone today such as Musk and Jobs (from immigrant parent(s)) the list goes on.

What they do offer is first class research facilities but not really the people to fill them.

"Like Trump, Kanye is guided purely by impulse and doesn’t much care for anyone who tries to stymie his ideas. During a production meeting for the Watch The Throne tour, Kanye became obsessed with the idea of him and Jay-Z opening the show by flying into the venue from outside and landing on the stage, ready to start the first song.

Much to Jay-Z’s annoyance, Kanye kept bringing it up and wouldn’t drop it even though he was continually told that, no, it wouldn’t be possible to remove the roof from Madison Square Garden for the sake of their two-night residency."

Do you really think that some of the "smartest and brightest minds in the world" could be a POTUS?

There is a saying along the lines of "anyone who wants to run for political office should be immediately banned from ever running for a political office".

    H.L Mencken's full quote from 1920:

The larger the mob, the harder the test. In small areas, before small electorates, a first-rate man occasionally fights his way through, carrying even the mob with him by force of his personality. But when the field is nationwide, and the fight must be waged chiefly at second and third hand, and the force of personality cannot so readily make itself felt, then all the odds are on the man who is, intrinsically, the most devious and mediocre — the man who can most easily adeptly disperse the notion that his mind is a virtual vacuum.

The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
Did H. L. Mencken Say the 'White House Will Be Adorned by a Downright Moron'?
