    Bloody Melbourne

Well here i is again, just about to book a ticket back to the garden city and these bloody protestors go out and catch Covid.

Boss calls me an says " just wait and see what happens"

Seriously, i wanna get a bloody handgun and start shooting these muppets through the head.

the whole " i can't wear a mask, it too hot" too uncomfortable, i get a rash, it makes my eyes hurt, its the wrong colour for my ensemble brigade are really cheesing me off.
Why can't these self entitled assholes just do as they are told, like the Thai population does.

trust me, a pissed off moose is a site to behold.......... carnage, mass strangulation, decimation of the masses kind of stuff.

i feel better now, i am off the get pissed !

Two of my kids are there. One studying at UoM, one working after graduating.

Quite worrying, but they are fairly sensible kids so fingers crossed.

Youngest brother could afford to buy out there only. The other is the ex-wife's family.

It is not just protesters that you lot. Here in Seattle my house is close to the University and I can tell you that these kids have realized that they are not going to die, so they are totally disregarding the masks and social distancing. I drove by a house party on Saturday night full of kids.

To explain what Moose is experiencing in Melbourne is probably ...

Australia, like the US is made of a number of States and Terrorities.

When Covid-19 hit, everyone literately closed their borders.

    Covid-19 isn't a big issue (relatively) there.

A little over 100 people have passed, in some states there have been no reported cases for over a month.

Victoria, Melbourne specifically reported 40 or 50 new cases overnight.

The Health Officials put that down to large (maybe 20 up) family gatherings.

To counter the community spread some of Melbourne's Suburbs have 'shut down', literately,
police at checkpoints, no-one in or out.

You hit the nail on the head there. "realized they are not going to die" We still have the factual data that 50-80% of the infected are asymptomatic and the fatalities are among the medically compromised.

This does not reflect current data. US is showing significant mortality in the young with no pre-existing comorbidities.

The average age of Americans who died from COVID-19 between February 1 and May 2 is 75, according to an analysis of a provisional data set published by the Centers for Disease Control’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) on Wednesday.

But, yes, some young folk have died. But, few "healthy" folk.

That is incorrect as people your age in the US have been dropping like flies. 50-80% is a massive swing. Come on Bowie? I know that you get into shit fights with Ant. But do you really think those numbers are factual? Most likely they are base on the new numbers that show that the new infection rates are highest in the 18-39 age group.

No, the numbers are not factual because we have not been able to test all persons accurately. Those are the figures the experts give. We cannot know how many folk have been infected. We do not have enough accurate tests. We do know what a fatality is. We do not know, for a fact, that Covid killed the fatality. We may know the the fatality did have covid when they passed away.

New infections in the 18-39 group may possibly be explained by the "it only happens to others" mentality. The problem is the USA is health:

Over 70 million adults in U.S. are obese (35 million men and 35 million women). 99 million are overweight (45 million women and 54 million men). NHANES 2016 statistics showed that about 39.6% of American adults were obese. Men had an age-adjusted rate of 37.9% and Women had an age-adjusted rate of 41.1%.

Add the underlying poor health and throw in a Covid infection...

We are six months into Covid and we are still gathering knowledge about the virus. But, that being said, no vaccine yet, no effective curative yet, still treating symptoms.

So, stay safe, wear a face mask and treat others as possible carriers.

Wow, that's nuts. Good rant, Moose!

Numbers are dwindling here in Canada, but now that things are opening up slowly... seems that it is spreading more in some places. Yesterday 27 people got Covid from the same nail salon about an hour from me. People just don't get it, that large gatherings shouldn't be allowed. I couldn't believe all the gatherings for the Black Lives matter rallies in the US, which also happened across Canada. The world has gone insane really.

but it was not them - stop believing murdoch propaganda

I was of the understanding that the outbreak detected after the protests was the security guards at the hotels where people were quarantined , who did not follow their instructions about fraternising with the guests

the uptick in infection detections now is a result of andrews getting mass random testing done across the state and trying to find cases which they can then contact trace to uncover more - the best move with the resources available

    and fcuk melbourne

So, whether a protestor would catch covid or not was determined by the righteousness of the cause being protested.

    Got it...
