I went to visit some Spanish friends there while on holiday. Many of the places I’ve been to were for work filming wildlife. Not a lot of exotic wildlife in Europe.

Plenty of wildlife and life in general.

As I said above, it's the best continent on the planet.

I hope you get the chance to enjoy it in the future.

I have spent extended periods of time working in many countries but can only claim to have lived in Australia and Thailand.

Yeah but if you asked him to back this claim up, like every other topic he states something about then gets questioned on he'd run for the hills and not reply. Make of that whatever you will

Been to? Boring question, don't know. Circa 100 I suppose, but I can never recall them all at one time. Lived in- Oz, HK, Thailand, UK, US in order of longest to shortest, so 5.

I wasn't thinking competitively. If I count the UK as 4 and the UAE as 7 that would add 9.

I have no plans to add any more to my list. If I were to travel in the post-Covid world I'd probably rotate through three or four favourites in my remaining years.

My only European country is Germany where I had eight hours to kill in Frankfurt. That was enough time for a train in to the city, currywurst brunch, a nosy around, and a train back to the airport.

^I use to transit thru Frankfurt Airport every 4 to 6 weeks for a few years when working in Sth America, something like 4 hrs outbound and 6 hrs inbound. Shower and clothes change in the Lufthansa lounge then straight to the Casino for some Blackjack, followed by a wonderful German meal (typically involving sausages or pork knuckle) and a stein of local beer before boarding for the 2nd half of the journey. If inbound, a trip to the basement to Dr Muellers sex shop to stock up on Western size condoms and various battery operated toys the girls use to enjoy too

Lets see born in Saudi Arabia. Touring around there. Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, Cypress, Malta, Capri. Took short vacations in Europe. England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Iceland. Made it as a kid to South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Morocco, and Algeria.

Lived in California next. Toured Canada, Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, and Guatamala.

Then Asia, Thailand, Malaysia, Burma, Indonesia, , Nepal, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Bought a one way ticket home from Indonesia once that went New Caledonia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tahiti.

I think that is about it. 12 years living in Arabia, about 20 in the states. 2 in Bali and over 30 here.

The one from 40 years ago. A bottle of JW Red and a carton of State Express 555's paid for a week there. Staying in the derelict Strand, and riding ponies around Pagan were great adventures. I had never been somewhere so backwards.

Thanks, got it the second time around. I think I was quaking in my boots over LD's threats to kick my ass.

One of the best things about living in Thailand is meeting and socializing with other expats who have travelled extensively.
I'm impressed with some of the stories and counts on here.

I have been to 55 countries but some not for more than a day.
I used to only count ones that I slept in (airports don't count)
But I'm not about to set rules for others.

I have hiked in 23 different countries (and that is overnights only)

But, I have a bad feeling that the future is going to be much more difficult to travel and add to my list.
Quarantines, health insurance requirements, recent travel history, tougher security in airports, health records, etc.

It's gonna be a pain in the butt.
But I've got to hike the Dolomites before I give it up.

I've lived in UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and now Thailand, so that's five countries.

Worked in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Irish Republic, Italy, Libya, Tunisia, Russia, Turkey, Brazil, Namibia, Angola, Congo, Gabon and Egypt that I can think of. Probably visited another ten or so.

I've never done any paid work in Thailand but feel like I deserve something.
