He's mentioned several times that his 'understanding' of things means suicide is the only solution.

I have to agree with others that you are self absorbed.

As for thread progression, it's pretty striking that there has been none whatsoever...unless you count things improving immeasurably since you joined in.

IF all else fails Wally, find something to laugh at if you can.

Wally my advice would be to ask the mods or admin to close or perhaps even delete this thread. Its doing neither you or your concerned friends any good. Then decide if you want to chat personally with a member you trust or you feel has given you advice you might be able to heed. PM said person and get a good dialogue going.

But going around and around like this sure as hell is not working. Sorry you are so far away during the no travel time mate..

    ^ True dat.

never mind offing yourself Wally, that'll take care of itself in due course.
Meanwhile take it one day at a time and consider every day a bonus. APPRECIATE the fact that you even HAVE life. Think about how amazing the simple fact that you're alive at all is.
Take pleasure in the little things. The sound of a bird outside your window. The feeling of a cool shower on a hot day, (or vise versa) the smell of fresh cut grass, the brillant contrast of white cloud against blue sky.
The shade of a mango tree. The flavour of the mango you found on the ground under it.
    One day at a time.
If we stop testing right now wed have very few cases, if any. Donald J Trump.

...agree...it's a reasonable way out when nothing else works...mango sniffing, funny cat pics, blue skies, a favorite walk in a park...these might work for some, but they're palliatives for other, more rational folks...just make sure no one else is inconvenienced...

Wally, a very moving story, reading your posts, you've been able to function well over the years with your business interests etc.

You sound like a smart guy, though have an addictive personality.

Anyone that tells you to get your shit together, doesn't really have any compassion or understanding of mental illness.

I'd suggest being the ladies friend,as she certainly doesn't sound happy in her life either, just don't push the relationship issue. If she is opening up to you,she may well be thinking about a life without her current husband.

I sent you a repo about an organisation look it up,its well worth it.

I wish you get your love back, if not i hope you will find peace.

STFU you rambling eejit, read the whole thread and you will see for many reasons the relationship is doomed.

Sitting with your betel chewing mates up in Laos, shit starts formulating in your pinhead. You feel compelled to verbalise it and make us all the worse off.

Wally is not alone in this world. In fact, there are a lot more Wallies than many of us are aware. You may recall Randall McMurphy, played by Jack Nicholson, in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest saying to the group of "crazies" in therapy "you're no crazier than the average asshole out walking around on the streets".

Moreover, caring for another, as you have shown, whether it's a partner, friend or family member, speaks volumes about your character. Give yourself a lot of credit for that. Everyone makes "mistakes". It's how we learned from them and how we more on from them that is important. Don't beat yourself up over the past. It does no good.

    ^Well said.

Depression and addiction is no joke, you definitely need counseling and often medication.
I know quite a few people with clinical depression and anxiety and it can be crippling. Serious help is needed. I just hope that Wally gets the help and pulls through cause life is short and he has a lot more years to live it.

Don't beat yourself up Wally. Beat somebody else up. This is the home of teakDOOR Virtual Fight Club. You don't even have to actually get out of your chair. You can have just as much fun merely threatening to beat them up

Wally, go to your local dog rescue centre and save one.
It will get you out the house a few times a day on long, envigorating and healthy walks.
My second dog gave me the strength to come back from some dark times over 20 years ago.
Focus on the future positively and make a bucket list of things to do, you're still a youngish man and probably quiet hansum in certain parts of the world.
At the end of the day, this thread for you is counterproductive and probably won't help you.

    But seriously, get a dog!
