The first beauty contest held up in Thailand was called "Miss Siam". This title is used from 1934 - 1938 because at that time the Country was named Siam.

    1934

    1935

    1936

    1937

    1938

From 1939 onward, according to the Government's declaration of changing the name of the Country from Siam to Thailand in 1939, the title has been changed to "Miss Thailand".

The contest ran for another 2 years before entering hiatus for 7 years according to the World War II

    1939

    1940

After the WWII ended, the contest continued but for only one year, 1948, before the Government called another hiatus for another year due to economic recession.

Since 1964, the contest has entered the modern time and gone officially international by joining those international beauty contests.

1964 started with the great success, Miss Thailand was crowned Miss Universe.

Two of the runner ups (at that time there were no first, second, third and fourth runner ups) entered the entertainment field and became very famous movie stars in the late 60s - early 70s

Just upload the photos to your computer. Use the icon to insert the photos. Double click to make them large.

Here is one of the contestants of the 1963 contest on the way to the venue as an example.. Less than a minute job and I am shit at computers.

This attribute might apply to generations of yore - not today.

Under-developed calf muscles is likely just down to a lack of using them - riding a motorbike to the market 200m away rather than walking there, for example. And shuffling/walking very slowly won't exercise calf-muscles much either. Those Thai women who exercise their calf muscles certainly develop them nicely - just as men or women from other countries.

1965 also proved to be another successful year for Miss Thailand though not as much as the previous year. She could achieved the second runner up from Miss Universe pageant.

Also two of the runner ups (at that time there were no first, second, third and fourth runner ups) entered the entertainment field and became very famous movie stars in the late 60s - early 70s

She was also a very successful singer

As the fact says nothing stays on top forever (kindly not 'think' too far). 1966 started the downhill of Miss Thailand Beauty Contest...

    1966

    1967

This year two of the runner ups achieved some success in another international beauty contest

4th runner up and Miss Photogenic for Miss International Beauty Contest

4th runner up for Miss Asia Pacific

    1968

This year Miss Thailand won best National Costume at the Miss Universe Beauty Contest

    1969

Miss Thailand did not went to compete for the Miss Universe that year because she was underage (17).

Anyway, the next year 1970 Thailand cancelled the Beauty Contest due to the Indo China War so she had a chance to prove her beauty at the Miss Universe Beauty Contest's floor.

    1971

    1972

The next year, 1973 Thailand faced one of the very tragic moments that we never can forget. That moment is called "The uprising of 14 October 1973". The Beauty Contest had been cancelled for another 10 years.

So, comes the end of my Memory Lane of this topic.

    Thank you for viewing.

Nothing new about it. A nice calf muscle (and nice ankles) accentuates the shape of the leg.

    Preferences, dear J. Preferences.
