    For context

1,000,000 IDR is about 2150 baht, $67 US, 55 UK quid or 0.0070 Bitcoin

So hand your money over to a company not knowing if you are even going to be allowed into the country and then what?

    Bit of a gamble.

    Well go on.

At least most of us will only have to worry about inter-provincial travel restrictions, as opposed to international.

Easy enough to tell the SO to carry the suitcases through a few moonlight fields, not so much hold onto the airplane wheel axle, then squeeze into the hold as they retract.

Indeed it is, you do not know if the hotel/resort will be still open or honour the credit note (because that's essentially what it is)

yes - or gone broke and shut

they are not doing this because they are flush with cash - pretty obvious how hotel chain shares will look in 6 months

Why should I trust them on their offer when they wouldn't trust me for a stay-now-pay-later?

Better off booking on Agoda with a cancel option if you feel so inclined.

Or, if you like a flutter, buy a lottery ticket or give your bank details to one of them Nigerian widows.

Added: I booked a one bed villa with (admittedly small but private) pool in a compound in Sanur for September for $80 a night, stayed there before, very nice and quiet.

Free cancellation up to August 21st.

So if there's no flights there's no problem.
