    Post-Covid-19, the first thing we'll do to spoil ourselves . . .

The lockdown isn't going to last forever, here in NZ we're three weeks into the scheduled four-week level 4 lockdown and we'll see how this continues but . . . it will end. Next month maybe? Who knows.

We discussed it today and the first thing we'll do on a week-end is go to Rotovegas/Rotorua so our youngest can have her birthday celebration with some friends . . . the luge tracks and connecting with the gondola are brilliant and the kids will have fun . . . and the buffet lunch is actually very good.

    Post-Covid-19, the first thing we'll do to spoil ourselves . . .-skyline-gondola-luge-runs-jpg

After this we'll go to the Polynesian Spa on Lake Rotorua . . .

    Post-Covid-19, the first thing we'll do to spoil ourselves . . .-akl-2011-118035-005-jpg

. . . and let the girls have their water/swimming fun while Mrs Hat and I spend a relaxing time in a private bath like this one

Nope, not us . . . but we've stayed at this one - the sulphur water is brilliant, smelly and good for you.

So, that's what we're going to do . . . what will be the first thing you'll do to 'spoil' yourself?

(it would be great if you could add some pics of whatever/wherever)

This sounds very immature of me, but I'm gonna go get smashed with a group of friends.

Say goodbye to wives and girlfriends, jump in a couple of motors and head to a certain coastal town an hour or 2 south of Bangkok.

I guess we'll wait for the photos after you've done that . . . and nothing immature about it at all.

Those Rotorua bubbling hotsprings are the bomb.

You can let rip in the bubbling pool with abandon and nobody suspects anything.

The Rotorua sulphur effluvium even lets the aroma fly under the radar.

Plans on "pause" at the moment:

5 days on Koh Chang, booked and now suspended until whenever.

4 week trip to UK (and France, to see some friends), also on hold.

Might have to take all four of me flagons down to the local craft beer dispensary and get the cupboards refilled with canned beans and tuna so I'm ready for the second wave.

If there's no second wave it might be enough to see me through till international flights start up again.
Some people think it don't, but it be.

Start my swimming pool project. I've been delayed right now due to the lock down on all the businesses.

    ^ It's ok because I couldn't comprehend the meaning.

Was it a compliment or a putdown?

Im enjoying the peace and quiet for now, but it can’t last forever. There has been an explosion of food delivery outlets, mostly among closed restaurants that are struggling to survive.
Shopping in Denpasar and Seminyak last week, with very little traffic, was actually quite pleasant, but restricted to food outlets.
Food, drink and smokes still available, so I’m ok. The poor locals who depend on tourism are proper screwed though. No social welfare or safety nets here.

Plenty of tourism staff have returned to their villages in Java, now the tourists have dried up.

I suspect that when this is over, may take some time. Domestic tourism may be an option before international.

I'm looking forward to beers with mates at the pub,

Tell me about it, even the ranges are closed so it's impossible to get anything like real practice in. Will shoot 100 and be sore for a month after the first game back

I might even be happy with a 100

I've been messing around with my portable putter set at home.

I know it's strange for a soap Dodger, but a nice relaxing hot bath would be more than enough once this is over. We were thinking of installing a tub in the downstairs bathroom. Something to make sure I have before the next lockdown.
