It has taken 49 years 11 months and 15 days, but...

...I've finally found something that Canada is good at!

Covid-19 has me/us desperately looking for things to do such as binge-watching on Amazon Prime and:

    &, today's newly found joy:

Ok, you see the same people over and over because the Canadian sci-fi actor pool only seems to have about 15 people, but nonetheless, Canada makes some good easy-watching, low budget Sci Fi series. The plots, storylines, characters, sets and special effects aren't great, but it's all good in a kinda Blake's 7 way (which appears to have been the inspiration for this sub-genre). To sum it all up in one word: nice.

I wonder if I'll find another thing that Canada is good at before I die of old age around 49 years, 11 months and 15 days from now, just a month short of a letter from the queen (who will probably still be alive...).
    Cycling should be banned!!!

    That's some nostalgia.

Did you know they planned a Blake's 7/Doctor Who crossover episode?
BBC didn't wanna mix it up so much so it got nixed.

I would have masturbated furiously over Soolin if I had been old enough.

So mate, you're 50 very soon? When's the big day... April 16th I'm going for, that was my dad's birthday.

That would've been interesting - the special effects were probably both made from the same Rice Crispies box after Blue Peter had finished with it

I speaking to me mother the other day, as one does, and she had recently gone through some old boxes of stuff that had been in the cellar in the house they just sold, and she said that sadly the Blake's 7 giftbox set I bought her many many years ago had become mouldy and she had to throw it away. Maybe I'll buy the set for her digitally...

Fair calls, but don't discount the two of them at the same time. (Papillion can gang bang the rest of the crew... )

I haven't seen that. There was another Canadian series, I think only 1 series, where some folks from the future came back in a time machine and were mostly killed while others were washed up in a bay - that was a good watch.

I don't wanna talk about it... Dilly would only revert to one of his photoshopped spectaculars; could be nasty.

^ That means a lot mate, thanks!

The wife still hasn't remembered... and it was 9 days ago.

But on the good side... it means she isn't looking at Teakdoor, so doesn't know I've been rifling through her underwear draw and using it to dress the dog up!

Canada makes a lot more than low budget sci-fi. I work in the industry and in Vancouver alone at the time of shutdown there were nearly 40 productions on the go. Hollywood North is one of the biggest production areas in the world and growing.

Yes, that appears to be the case, good stuff. Is that a relatively recent thing, Pickel, last 10-15 years or so?
