What positives can you see coming from the situation, we have now around the globe.

I've have been holed up now for three days and can honestly say never been so bored in my life.
The good thing is though, I've been thinking a lot more, and been reflecting on life, and having some deep and meaningful conversations with friends lovers and family.

What positives can you see from the situation that has become a part of our lives now?

Hold on to the good news

2020* is the biggest example, as if we needed one, that life is not a travelator. And it's certainly not an escalator, ever upwards. It can be a humbling, sad and difficult realisation. For many, we've got all the hours in the day to realise it.

Some of us will use this time to learn Indonesian, to bake croissants or to tone up our abs.
Some of us will die, and be mourned at funerals with 10 or fewer people, sitting alone, apart, with no hugs or handshakes at the door.
    But there is good news.

Unlike the finality of death, we have an opportunity — through the way we act — to help mitigate the spread of the virus. If we do, we can reduce the number of families who must attend a sparse goodbye of a loved relative, we can lower the peaks of the painful decisions medical staff will have to make.

With technology we can remain connected to relatives, workmates, schools and our community. With heart we can look after the vulnerable and those who are struggling in what will be a long, strange year.

2020* won't be the best year ever, like we hoped three months ago.

But it can be what we make it.

The coronavirus pandemic has put our hopes and dreams on hold. But the rest of the year can be what we make it - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

    3 days!? I'm on about day 10.

Pretty fucking bored. Most of the day is spent either amusing the kid or trying to have a nap/me time while she plays on an iPad.

I think boredom is an internal thing. Sure external factors can make it seem worse but it was probably there all along. Maybe boredom is like hunger? The more one fixates on it the worse it gets.

Positive things about the current situation? Hmmm. Nothing that limits my activities is really caused by virus. OK it is a bit more convoluted but still feasible.
My current situation is pretty much as dull as it was before.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

We still have secured little knowledge about these things - once or 20 cycles of life.

Though, I'm sure we would like to believe that we've cornered the market of all encompassing connections.

Better chance might be that we really haven't a clue.

Agreed. Some pretty benign posts deleted before it was moved though.

    Culling the herd?

Within some circles, this could be considered a positive notion.

    Or not.....

I decided to go back and resurrect an old hobby of mine - music.

So I dropped a few grand on a Yamaha Motif XF8 because I can see myself having a lot of spare hours chez Harry and I might as well do something I enjoyed but never really had the time to practise.

Personally : i had a whole day off, and fuck it, will take another tomorrow. Last time i took 2 days hookey was, crap, a year ago? Monday, as all my small shit is cleared, i will take the opportunity to start on finishing a long overdue book contribution.

More broadly : There will be a reappraisal of health research funding. Most goes to cancer, aging, cardiovascular diseases. These can kill you, but infectious disease can fuck your whole world.

In some countries (particularly in asia) might become a cultural norm to go out with a mask on.

Supply lines will be reappraised. If you rely on a drug made in lombardy (for example) you have a good chance of being fucked when the suppplies dry up.

Food production will be looked at hard. That line meat processing factory? Likely to be gone.

Temp scanners will be much more common (airports, cultural events, supermarkets?).

Lastly, and the best news, wild life hunting for food, and processing such food is likely to be stamped on hard. Except in basket cases like Africa.

Or, people will ignore the lessons, and life will go on as normal. Until the next time.

    How does it handle Hazza.

Aside from the disruption life wise and sadly for some they will never see normality return, i am finding loads of time to do all the small jobs, tasks and issues i never seem to get round to sorting- so at least fro the moment its been useful being confined to barracks.

^ i have a picture of a bloke sat behind a Hammond Organ with a bad Syrup and ill fitting duds tinkling away modern classics in a working club and occasionally throwing in the odd sound effect to wake up the punters.

"So simple even a terrapin can play it" was the advertising slogan I remember from 'Not The Nine O'clock News'.
