    Good plan KZ.

I just finished auditing my collection recently and sorting it so I could find the best ones more easily and then I somehow managed to digitally misplace the entire thing. About 50Gb worth I think. Time for me to get busy on the porntubes.

I am also using my new found leisure time learning to read and write Chineasy

Many negatives..........., but we have to try and keep positive. I'm going to get money from the government for just sitting on my ass. Spending more time than ever living with mom and niece playing games like dominoes, crib, etc.

As a world, I think this may bring people closer eventually. More money will be given to certain workers (healthcare etc.) for the job they do.
More money put into research for disease and viruses.

Perhaps the bottom dollar will cease being the most important thing for some people and businesses.
People may value their life more if they get through this and fulfill their dreams or change their jobs to follow their aspirations.

Maybe life will just move on as it ha been, who really knows.

You are a very long way from critiquing anyone regarding language skills. Jeff has a random quote generator, and you have alphabet soup.
The fact that you can’t understand what I have written, simply means that, while there is help for the stupid, your case is beyond redemption.

More broadly : There will be a reappraisal of health research funding. Most goes to cancer, aging, cardiovascular diseases. These can kill you, but infectious disease can fuck your whole world.

In some countries (particularly in asia) might become a cultural norm to go out with a mask on.

Supply lines will be reappraised. If you rely on a drug made in lombardy (for example) you have a good chance of being fucked when the suppplies dry up.

Food production will be looked at hard. That line meat processing factory? Likely to be gone.

Temp scanners will be much more common (airports, cultural events, supermarkets?).

Lastly, and the best news, wild life hunting for food, and processing such food is likely to be stamped on hard. Except in basket cases like Africa.

Or, people will ignore the lessons, and life will go on as normal. Until the next time.
On a business sense, just in time supply lines will have to be reconsidered.

Purchasing locally, seasonal foods will become more prevalent again.

Businesses might hold cash reserves again.

    Or this.

Life goes on for me, teaching science online. New students signed up from Brazil, Korea, China and Hong Kong. Not enough hours in the day to teach them all - my lesson calendar indicates there are more than 200 lessons already booked for April. Hopefully when the virus panic dies down, I'll still have some students left

A clampdown on the trade in wild animals will be most welcome. Hopefully accompanied, finally, by Chinese aversion to eating weird and endangered species.

Ours too Misskit. I have been working remotely from home and it's actually been great. You make it what it is IMHO. I have to say though I have not been impacted here like so many others, especially my California family and friends.

I have been able to catch up on some things such as I serviced my Lawmower and other gas powered yard tools, cleaned up the shop, waxed my truck, cleaned out one of my laptops to make it run a little faster. Also I take my bike rides earlier but not as far.

I will be glad when this is behind us all though. So much loss and tragedy.

One hopes, though I expect it takes more than a global pandemic/recession to move China away from its indifference to all except itself.

A good wake up call and fire drill for when the next one comes. I'm sure places will close down a lot faster and lots will be learned from this.

Surely a lot more lives have been saved from road traffic accidents than what covid has taken.

Pension funds should be a lot healthier

somewhat understandably, there will likely be a massive and impractical overreaction from governments and individuals....just like there was after 9/11.

Does eating bats and pangolins count as "line meat processing"?

There doesn't appear to be food supply problems yet, but reports out of Italy don't bode well. As a cash economy, lots of people have run out of money and social unrest will not be far off if they don't resolve that problem.

Can see that popping up worldwide.

We all post many interesting stories .... here on TD. To add to ongoing threads, to support or disagree. We start new threads on subjects, we as individuals, believe important.

I suggest all these post allow us to make ourselves feel "better", we do it for OURSELVES, selfishly. Currently the opportunity to socialise in person, is somewhat restricted. Possibly for some it is the only available to discuss local, national and international gossip, news and topics of personal interest.

The usefulness of "soaking ones balls in a Zinc solution to assist the virility of elderly men" is one example.

We all do this for our own SELFISH reasons.

To suggest citizens, internet poster and government spokespersons of one country, China, are in some way exceptional is IMHO, uneducated, ill-informed and racist.

Opinions vary on what the future will bring, on the results that numerous group's actions have delivered historically.

Please look around, before you cast your stone at only one target.

A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.

Well the point surely is that the Chinese would do well to change the more whacky elements of its diet, and should do so for purely China-based reasons.

Jabir's comment that China is insular therefore misses the aforementioned point.

Which seems to happen quite a lot.

Think you are mixing two issues. My comment on meat processing is that current methods are not compatible with any form of social distancing. Pretty much any type of animal processing i would think.

The issue of bats, pangolins, civet cats etc is entirely different.

I get the impression all workers an existing government commitments, in North America, Europe and some Asian countries are continuing. Some have been expanded.

Our local ATM's are being refilled, food, chemist, filling stations and other selected suppliers have managed the initial hysteria and are being re-stocked. Our local "pop up" daily markets have Thai staples, Rice, Chicken, Pork, Vegetables, Fruit, Spices ....

Our local Makro, Tesco and 7/11 are still open. Not with everyone's taste, vintage cider for one it seems. Moving "home", where vintage cider are still/have been available, was and for some still is, an option.

Decisions are and have been mad, some by others.

Some choose to sit and watch the rice, mangosteen, Durian grow whilst sipping tea, coffee, iced water, breaking open their imported impressive alcoholic stock.

Some choose to sit in a plane with 300 others to return "home", where of course it's much safer.

Some "preppers" are now finding their private jet being denied entry to foreign airspace, their expensive ocean front summer house has been turned hospitals for the year round locals or even armed squatters in their mountain cabin.

Some know of gold shops where large and small shiny bars will be exchanged, for ever growing, piles of red, blue, yellow and green folding stuff. If and when the house banker decides. Some 7/11's have new "guards", gold shops are always so equipped.
