You can do zumba at home, MK. Lots of zumba vids on YouTube - I've downloaded some and plan to get more, so that I have a wider selection of songs/ dances. There are also TaeBo vids on YT.

I'd prefer to take walks/runs, but as it's not advisable now bcos of lockdown in my area, it's time to get zumba-ing again.

Hope you & your family are safe & healthy!

Due to the Oz govt's abrupt cancelling of foreigners flying into Oz, I will be trying to get a refund for lady and princess Cows trip to Oz from Expedia (wish me luck with that). Also a refund on the medical insurance that wont be used (I have been told not much chance of that).
The asociated costs such as tourist visa (which is not cheap for a Thai to visit Oz) and the jumping through hoops to get one will of course be lost.
Pales into insignificance compared to not having lady and princess Cow here during the crisis where I believe the medical system will be better than LOS.

The masks arrived. After delivering the orders to the local families we realised there was considerable number remaining.

Not to be disheartened my lovely wife decided to look for new markets.

    Market No. 1

    This one took my eye:

Useful for breaking the home lock-in boredom, flaunt one's wealth social standing to the masses.

One's escape plan of flying the fully loaded, 150 tons cap. An-124

Covid - Today, and after the Fact - What are you doing?-il-76-taxi-jpg

to NZ is no loner available. Officially .

Unless the cargo is on parachute equipped pallets and all passengers and crew have read and understood the flying and landing procedures of this safety fixture standard on the An-124 ....

There is the Boing Boing supplied app in the in-flight video selection that has been certified as virus free (Asian market).

    Market No. 2

    DIY Masks

Covid - Today, and after the Fact - What are you doing?-landscape-1491325043-01-7-gif

Pancake mix + vegetable colour + Thai "skin whitening" herbs. Insert two cigarette filters in the nose.

What other mask uses/markets can the members imagine for the expensive, non-reusable, worthless paper masks, those cartons off extra absorbent, strong but soft and subtly perfumed, table tissue and other items from the "survival" cave stock?

Use and sell now, when the "panic premium" is high or sell at a later day when prices rise but so has everything else.

Is there an app to assist ones decision?

Was a docu on the Spanish Flu pandemic on tv recently. Did not originate from Spain, but in Bombay and Boston right at the same time.. Some scientists believing these viruses arrive from space:-

The lethal wave of influenza in 1918-19... was first detected on the same day in Boston and Bombay. Yet in spreading within the United States it took three weeks to go from Boston to New York. — Fred Hoyle and Chandra Wickramasinghe (1)
One of Hoyle and Wickramasinghe's more controversial claims is that influenza outbreaks are often caused by newly arriving viruses from space. Among several lines of evidence, they noticed that the worst flu epidemics coincide with peaks in the eleven-year cycle of sunspot activity. When an unusually vigorous flu epidemic again matched the pattern in January, 2000, they renewed the story in Current Science, a weekly journal of the Indian Academy of Sciences. In London, The Guardian covered the story (2), and a controversy erupted. Here is some of the ensuing discussion, 21-26 January 2000.
    Influenza from Space?

Spain was probably the "bad guy" during this period; "French disease", "Dutch courage", German measles" etc.

Got the job in BKK, but I don't think this will be over by July, so it is all a bit up in the air. Salary is coming in, but I think that a cut is fairly inevitable at some stage in the future if this goes on. Uni work is fine, cracking on with the last essay and hope to be done with that mid-May. Still no panic buying here but draught beer seems to be running out. I presume some of the ingredients are imported from Russia or China.

I want to hop in my campervan and cruise the Eyre peninsula for a while, get away from all this funk. But with everything that's happening, I don't know if it's wise. Will local yokels be up in arms because I am not self isolating? Will I be looked upon as a potential carrier? I've developed a bloody sniffle, too.

Some fractures are starting to show in aussie society. A lot of finger pointing going on. Eejuts fighting over bog roll & hand wash in supermarkets, staff being abused. And no sport to let off steam.

An all too common understanding from those who deeply study/research such things - unknown and mysterious viral and bacterial agents that derive from space and find their way here, by happenstance or intention.

Walked into the local Co-op today in Guernsey, noticed the automatic doors not working and a assistant standing behind the door, opening it by hand,as I walk in she tells me please don't stand to close to anyone and be as quick as you can in the shop, I think to myself its gone mad.

Returned to the Co-op this evening and there is a queue outside everyone standing close to everyone else, and a different assistant on the door, saying only one person comes in,when one person comes out, The ferking shop is virtually empty as as someone walks in she says please don't walk to close to me,fek this i think I'm off for a coffee at Costa, goes upto to counter sorry sir we are not accepting cash anymore.

Fuck this I think I'm going into self isolation to get away from the madness.

Here bars have been closed, and you can only eat in restaurants between 11.30 am and 2.30 pm and can't sit at the bar in a restaurant, you have to sit at a table, all patrons have to be out of restaurants by 10.30 pm

The virus must spread more before 11.30 am and after 2.30 pm and after 10.30 pm.

This virus is bringing out the best of nutcase govts.

Taxi driver tells me today, that the people coming to the island who have to self isolate for 14 days can still use the taxi service, and buses, and govt are not asking taxi drivers or bus drivers to be tested for virus.

Has anyone seen a video with what the virus does to a human posted anywhere, or anyone know anyone that has the virus or believes they have.

seems to me that the virus is much the same as a cold, flu.

Bollocks to it all, people are running around like scared chickens.

Coronavirus, allergies, cold, flu or strep? These are the differences

A bit pointless, trying to plan for the future, post apocalypse. No one know when any kind of normal might resume. It will be many months, possibly longer, before an end is in sight.
Cargo flights for food imports will continue, but under close scrutiny for coved importation.
Like everything else, Asian countries will be behind the curve on certifying cargo and carriers as disease free.

No time to worry about the loss of tourism revenue, when other issues will surface on a daily basis. The response to current and new issues will always be reactionary.
Growing more foodstuffs for human consumption in tropical climes should be easier, if only they had a grip on haphazard climate events

I am spending my time researching stocks, the worst will soon be over and the markets will spike. We are entering the best buying opportunities in a generation.

There is no way that the global shutdown of commerce can go on for months.

Hopefully better/faster testing equipment is released soon, a treatment for the virus cannot be far off. A vaccine will probably fast tracked before year end.

However even if the foregoing does not occur the shutdown will still end within weeks, the consequences of this not happening are worse than the virus.

    Stay safe.

The "testing" procedure seems to be a little vague. Given that we have legions of other very similar "corona-virus" antibodies and pathogens in our DNA from previous colds, flu's, and viruses, -the Covid-19 virus is isolated, and confirmed to be cause of infection, death, etc., how.?

Ok, let’s work on the basis that TD members may not the most sophisticated investors. My best advice would be to buy a low cost index fund in your country of residence. Eg Vanguard

Set and forget and let the magic happen. Time in the market shall now be more important than market timing.

    Thank me in 3 years
