A bit of a different spin on Covid,
What are you doing to prepare yourself and your family for what will happen?
Now, as nobody knows what is actually going to happen, what steps have you taken to protect yourself and your family from potential damage? Medical, financial, emotional?
Today, tomorrow, next month, 3 months out?
For myself, short-term. Purchased face masks and hand sanitizer. Stocked up on our normal stock of supplies, basically doubled our usual stock. Withdrew two months of cash for expenses (doubled). And we have cut back on travel and entertainment excursions. Put longer term travel plans on hold.
Haven’t changed anything investment wise. Nest egg dropped by a good 15% in value but that’s on paper only. Number of shares owned remains the same.
As retirees we are in the enviable position of being fairly well insulted. This proverbial “shit-hitting-the-fan” event is, for us, basically a non-participant spectator event.
A great deal of panic reporting – as always happens. Some of it will occur, how bad it’s going to get is anybody’s guess. The list is long.
In your best guess – where will you be, and in what shape, a year from today?
For us, we will be right here, relatively untouched by this event and the series of events that will follow. Dominos…
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and input.
