    Shipping electronics to the Philippines

A friend's decided to pull up stakes in Thailand hoping for greener pastures in the Philippines. He's thinking using a Balikbayan box is his best option but he learned he has to get his things to their store in Bangkok to pack his items.

Anyone have any other suggestions or maybe have advice on how to handle this process?

Where in Thailand was he living?

He could take it himself via Air Asia. You can take 40kgs per person plus your 7kgs on board and laptop.

We brought 120kgs with us. It was cheap too.

The only thing here is the word Electronics and whether that means delicate, not clear.

    Balikbayan-Box-Services - Asian Tiger

I used Asian Tigers Balikbayan service when I moved from Singapore to Manila. Service was excellent.

They delivered the boxes to my home and then came back a few days later to pick them up.

We used Seabra Movers in Bangkok. 5000 per box and they are big boxes. Be aware though it might take a month or six weeks.

We bringing the wife's desktop in my carry on bag. Cebu Pacific checked baggage limit is 80kg, we were at 76kg.

Some good ideas for a start. I'll pass along the information to him as he does't read this forum. Thanks to all who replied.
