    Jeffs time to shine

So, my worst fears are realized. I have to go work for a week or so in Portland , Oregon. Looks worse than nakhon bumfuck.

So, any input on flights ? At the moment Delta looks best, but never flown with them. Any input on the most painless way?

Work pays, but i am on a fixed budget, so economy is kind of key.

Plus, i will pay for the travelling companion* out of my own pocket so a bit of a factor.

    *fuck of cyrille.

Assuming Bangkok, go to Google, put your dates in, look for the cheapest and go to the airline website.

Delta, is one of the worst

difficult to say these days, all US airlines are terrible

be careful with the attitude of the stewardess, they tend to be edgy, poor pay, fucked over by management 24/7, they have no time or patience for passengers

Try Thai to SF, then any cheap airlines to Oregon

the trip is going to be a fooking nightmare regardless, hence why people take biz for long trips

just prepare yourself mentally, or buy a dozen XANAX box for the trip, pharmacy in Nana corner has them OTC,

Portland is a beautiful fun city, but it is eccentric. The towns slogan is Weird City. Most of the flights are code shares. So look carefully you could well luck in to no flight on Delta but on their partner airline. For sure BKK to the first point will involve no Delta. Enjoy the west coast mate..

You could try a Chinese airline, they're probably as cheap as fuck right now.

Christ, do you really not know where to compare flights?

    Skyscanner...your flight comparison companion.

(You don’t even have to reconfirm your flight anymore. )

I fly to SF and Seattle.

Fly EVA. Top planes. Super clean. Fly through Taipei. I do not believe you can fly into Oregon anyway. Do SFO and then Southwest Airlines to Portland.

    Delta is Shit.

A train is usually slower than just taking a bus from Seattle to PDX and a lot more expensive.

It is a beautiful city with a lot to offer. Most strip clubs per capita then all of the US although it can't compete with LOS.

Lots of good restaurants and food trucks. Plenty to see and do. Would be a good idea to rent a car for a bit while there to make it up to see Mount Hood, Mount Saint Helens (which erupted in 1980) as well as Multnomah Falls, drive down the coast to Cannon beach, go out to Astoria and charter a fishing boat. The list is endless.

    OK a few points.

Yes, I can compare prices, while it is a key factor, it is not the ONLY factor. The least travel time I saw was about 18 hours, the longest was around 45 hours. One cheap routing had a leg on Air Ethiopia. Pass. As said, delta seemed the best airline price/routing - but the unanimous verdict here is that it is a crap airline.

I would prefer a routing direct to Portland as I do not have to f*ck about humping suitcases, so train, coach etc is gonna be a pass.

Good to hear that Portland is different to my imagining. However, It will be full on work for the time I am there, so as much as I would like, Charter fishing trips are not on the menu.

Thanks for the input guys* it was helpful.

*except for you Cyrille - you can fuck right off.
