Seeing as 80% of my income requires face-to-face it's been a bit tough, seeing as we still have to pay for the office and staff. It picked up between August and December but has been very flat since then.

On the flipside our maid in KL has been left alone and loves it - very little to do, she can invite her friends over, she has a pool to use, has our car to drive - swings and roundabouts.

Hopefully vaccinations will speed up - from none now to hopefully a more structured approach. The Deputy PM here said in an interview yesterday that even though NZ has tens of thousands of vaccines they're not going to vaccinate . . . and gave puerile reasons. What a shambles the vaccination process has been here

pretty much - and why not. Nothing else for her to do. Well, she voluntarily drives to the office and keeps that clean as well - not her job but she's a nice lady and has been with us a while

Another day of online "teaching" today, I suppose I shouldn't be so pissy, I do think that the challenge has probably a better teacher in terms of using technology and adapting to the everchanging situation. I can tell a lot of my students are just fed up and want to be back at school with their friends, that is something that just isn't the same from behind a screen. There are now over 17k cases her and everything is totally shut down unless it is a pharmacy or grocery store. Outside exercise is also now banned city wide. I guess there is a case in my apartment complex as it is locked down completely.

Work= mostly fine and still being paid a full salary

Mental Health= questionable! This lockdown insomnia is a bitch.

Physical Health= got exercise equipment - haven't gained an ounce, so that's something. Fully vaccinated.

But I worry for the country at large, domestic violence is skyrocketing and suicides due to lockdown are surging higher than covid deaths. I am not sure the country can take much more of the new normal before something gives up the ghost entirely.

    ^How's it going, Mandy?

I've been online again since April 1st, but had to go into a Spec. Ed class last week and came in close contact with a child with Covid. So, I had to get tested today (seven days later). I sure hope I am negative.. no symptoms so hope I am fine! This online learning thing is something, isn't it!! It is hard for younger children especially grade 4 and under ime. We may go back in a few weeks, but there is only about a month left of school, so go figure. I don't know if it is wise to send the kids back for three or four weeks..but many children are suffering mentally and not able to socialize!
    All the best!

Are you with those physically challenged or more developmentally challenged.

I'll bet online teaching must be a real trip and how in the world would you teach a slow child online?

You won't recall but I spent my career with developmentally challenged children as a teacher, I loved it always.

    Good luck to you MM.

^More developmentally challenged, but DD kids are allowed to go to school during the lockdown while most other kids are online.
I am a full time supply teacher, so I teach where I am needed, whatever subjects/level.

Carlton is considered to have the best Political Science advanced program in Canada.

I wish I would have studied there.

Our family is spread out pretty much around the world., mostly in the US, Greece, Italy , and of course Thailand, but we all remain very close talking to each other every week and getting together at least once a year. Covid put an end to the getting together. I have not seen my brother and sisters for over two years. There is 5 of us with all the associated. kids and nephews etc. I am almost 64 years old, and except for my baby sister who is 62, the rest are in their late 60s early seventies. Then I have my wife's side of the family who I love very much also, great people all of them.
At our age We don't have many years remaining to waste social distancing.
I would say that has been the main way that covid has affected me. I have worked very hard all my life, I dreamed of retiring and spending more time with my family, and the Year I retired, covid ruined everything.
Hopefully this thing is almost over, and we can get back to some sort of normal again.

I'd travelled to Athens from London last Thursday. Had some muscle aches, swollen throat glands and felt a little tired on Saturday. By Sunday lunchtime I thought I'd have a nap. Within an hour I was delirious with a temperature, sweating and shivering. This lasted until Monday morning. I booked a flight to London for early afternoon, limped into a cab and crawled home. A home test has confirmed China virus. I've previously had three Pfizer jabs.

Still a bit groggy, the main symptoms are now tiredness and loss of taste.

    Just my experience.

Everyone in the family have had it apart from me.

My missus has suffered the most with her condition lingering such as lethargy and shortness of breath.

I always wear a mask when out in public and keep my distance from others where possible.

Managed to avoid it so far and still wear the mask in shops and Grabs, but nowhere else where there is plenty of room and no-one else wears them.

I know a couple of people who've caught it this week, very mild and they are doing the decent thing and isolating.

Masks - Chanthaburi hasn't got the message and still signs everywhere advising masks must be worn; 7-11, Kasikorn, the markets, even the Loy Krathong events by the lake on Tuesday.
I'm the one-in-four of our household who has tested +ve earlier this year but had no serious impact, mild flu for me. Fortnuate for daughter #2 as she's always had bronchial issues, usually gets any cold/flu that's circulating at school, but OK this far.
Ms P's company were taking all the office staff to a medical centre each Monday morning for their ATK tests until July but all that has passed now.
The younger of my two brothers died last year - heart - due to Covid restrictions in place at the time (NZ) no formal service held and a quick cremation. He'd been dead 3-4 days when found - during a compulsory stay isolated time in NZ's Covid-management plan. Got together with brother #1 in August this year for a RIP beer or two in Auckland.
We believe our former friend/neighbour has passed away - he had returned to England for health reasons, was a constant emailer, correspondence stopped in May this year. That's the only two 'close' deaths we've had.
A former colleague I keep in touch with had to wait a year to get to India after her mother's death from Covid; she's around 50, said pretty much all her parents' generation had gone. We got off lightly.
    And life goes on.

Nothing new in many Asian countries.

Thai, UK and Texas families all getting on with their lives.

A new, twin national, 8lb 9oz/21.5 inch long boy, delivered in Texas this month. Not sure if that's a regular or large size for Texas.

Yes, number 3. Two already from my son number 1 and his wife.

Son number three and his girlfriend, as well as my daughter, are still home/career building. So none, so far.
