The idea of retiring up here in the sticks is becoming more rational than a few months ago. Not sure when I will be allowed to go back to work but not that bothered either.

The slightly cooler weather means I can work a lot more on the garden and farm. Any lockdown will still allow us that freedom, which is nice. The horror of missing out on booze is over after we secured a new method of delivery. It is limited to beer but I can live with that for now.

I was also quite shocked at how cheap my diabetes tablets are. They aren't quite the same as my prescription but look to be okay. I'm trying them out before I run out of my original ones just in case.

I've also found a new benefit of chilli. Preparing it is a damn fine way of stopping you picking your nose or touching your lips.

Stay well and keep your distance...

^most towns have a wholesaler or two and they do drops, seem to be able to get about without too much trouble and the one we use in Pak Chong is happy to drop off 1 or 20 cases if you ring them.

...I live in a remote village in Sakon Nakhon...you know the province where alcohol is no longer for sale, not even at Mom&Pop shops...at least not openly. The Mom&Pop shops don't have deliveries, they go and buy the stuff themselves and resell at a small profit. We are 11 km of dirt track to the nearest delivery vehicle route if that helps to visualise...

^ My mom just had a telemedicine appointment with her cardiologist, who was wearing a mask. Seemed a bit odd. Perhaps she just keeps it on as long as she can without touching it?

I'm pretty certain any surgeon and operating theatre personnel, teaching new techniques on-line, would disagree.

Also on-line welding masters, level 8 microbiologist/virus breeders and bomb disposal teachers. Not to forget spitting cobra milkers.

Also, Islamic State teachers probably want to keep their masks on. Oh, and Muslim women of course.

Aren't the masks there to protect you from passing stuff directly to your nose and mouth after touching an infected object.

If someone else has possibly touched the computer, its keyboard or its mouse, then wearing a face mask could possibly stop you from accidentally killing yourself and your loved ones.

Provided you wash your hands for 20 seconds while singing Happy Birthday before and after.

You keep hearing of new symptoms all the time, earlier in the week i had an itchy right nipple for 2 days and today i have developed a fixation on coffee and walnut cake, a trip for supplies is required, or a pregnancy testing kit.

Aw, take care, Topper and wife.
We are not in a lockdown, but it feels like it as mostly everything is closed and you will get a fine if you are in a group of more than 5 people or not social distancing.

On a sobering note, the levels of garbage stacking up since the lock-down are really piling up. People ordering food and goods via delivery, and then just discarding the packaging.. Or refuse-collecting services overwhelmed, maybe?

Single-use plastic bags (remember them?) back with a vengeance.

^ Out of how many... three?

I finished work in Norway last November, five months ago, and in 13 years of marriage this is the longest I have ever spent at home. I take my hat of to you guys who have regular jobs and go home every night, I really don't know how you do it. (13 years and 6 days to be exact... as I'm writing this I realise I missed an important date last week...)

I'm used to having a month or two at home between jobs, but because I've been away and there's always an end date I find it keeps things fresh and enjoyable. I usually keep a routine and stay busy with jobs. But now there really is no end date in sight and I'm struggling to fill my time. My DIY campaign ground to a halt since all the shops are shut, and let's face it, who wants to do outside jobs in 38 degrees heat.

The daughter has been home for online tuition the last couple of weeks, so that's helped, and now she's officially home for Easter. So its the 7am dog walk and then a swim every morning with the littlun... followed by some awful cooking and various nonsense. Don't know what I'd do if she wasn't here... well yes I do, I'd have a lunchtime Leo (s).

This has certainly made me think long and hard about how to tackle retirement, if it ever happens. I really can't spend it dressing up the dog in the wife's underwear... or can I?
