Yeah, she's in good spirits though and was joking that she should have been in Spain with her swimsuit on instead of being quarantined for God knows how long.

@topper - Metro Manila has been in lockdown since 15 March, and the rest of Luzon two days after. It was only a matter of time before your province declared its own lockdown.

Re: Internet at home, is it possible for you to buy the prepaid routers? Globe and Smart-PLDT both have it, I think a unit costs 1,500 pesos. But the signal is location-dependent, so ask around which provider has better signal in your area. Of course, a wired connection is better, so I hope you can get one soon. Or maybe a cable provider has better deals in your area? My BIL works from home, and their family have a PLDT subscription - it's 2,500 per month I think (fiber optic).

Re: food supplies, I don't know if there are delivery services in your area. Here, most food establishments are open for take-away only. Time to get busy with those recipes!

    Good luck and stay safe!

Re: myself, I've been WFH since last week. I'm fortunate that the salary is regular and am not in a no work/ no pay situation. Many ppl are out of work now.

The other day, there was a barangay (village) vehicle going around with a loudspeaker, stating that our town is now on total lockdown (it was soft quarantine previously). We can only go out of the village on specific days & time (T-Th-S, 6-10 am and 3-6 pm). Curfew from 8 pm to 5 am. CV cases are increasing - 500+ already, and 2 doctors have died bcos the elderly patient (88 years old) didn't disclose that she had been to China. As such, the staff didn't consider her as infectious & didn't wear proper PPE. Sigh...

We also need the Barangay pass when going out to the main streets - I got mine yesterday. There was also a vehicle which sprayed disinfectant on the streets. Also, the barangay officials gave some relief goods to people. They announced it via loudspeaker & ppl had to line up for it at the corner. I didn't participate, since I'm OK foodwise and there are people more in need.

If you saw one of Graceless Fawn's posts - she works for the local govt and she showed pics of stacks of products. It's good that the people are getting those food products now. According to some (in other provinces) - the packs contain 5 kg rice, some canned goods (probably sardines) and instant noodles.

In between work tasks, I've tried new recipes. Thank goodness for internet & YouTube! I've made banana bread using a rice cooker, and it works. (I don't have an oven). I'll try pumpkin & carrot breads in the next few days. I used the recipe from Life of Pang, a Thai woman with a US accent.

My sis sent me pics of their grocery run a few days before - lines were long. Huge contrast to my grocery run the other day - few people.

Yesterday at the talipapa (small wet market), some ppl weren't distancing. So I bought a lot of fresh vegs to minimize going out. I noticed that most ppl were buying vegs good for 1 or 2 meals only. They can't buy in bulk, since $$ isn't enough.

As I've said earlier in this thread, there was a meme going around here in FB. "The rich are panic buying. For the poor, we just panic!"

Still lots of loo roll last Sunday! Stay safe, healthy & sane!

I went out today to buy eggs (forgot to do so yesterday). Since it was only a short distance, I didn't wear a mask. On the way back, I was chastised by an elderly woman as to my lack of mask. I said "sorry, won't happen again, as I didn't know". Yesterday afternoon, there were many ppl unmasked, so I thought it was still OK today. Some of my neighbors were complaining as to why it had to be that strict in our subdivision/ village.

Clarification re: movement, we can leave the subdivision only TThS, and during specific times. Otherwise, the gate is closed. To get out to the main highway (where the supermarkets are) one needs a pass.

The small stalls selling vegs, carinderias (canteens), bakery, fresh meat & fish - they're all open. These stores are all inside my subdivision (I think it's mooban in TH).

Anyway, only 2.5 more weeks to go, hopefully. This too shall pass...

We're all in this together! Kumbaya!

Was funny, i wish i had a dog atm (no Dill). My main challenge seems to be to stop my self looking like Tom Hanks off Castaway. When you are used to shaving daily you forget how short a time it takes to start looking like a Wino.

Not really . . . I don't shave on weekends and thought this would be a good opportunity to have some masculine facial hair . . . after day five of self-isolation I found that my full head of hair simply refuses to lend any energy to my face after day two of not shaving.

Most of her family lives in Bangkok, but there is a smattering of aunts and uncles here.

More great news! No alcohol sales are allowed at all, starting today, to prevent gatherings of people.

So for the foreseeable future, I'll be at home, no internet, no TV, no booze alone with the wife. FOOOOOOK MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

I think I'd rather get corona, it might be more pleasant!

Well i got my expected email from Thai Airways cancelling both inbound and outward bound flights. Now no mention of voucher refund so i guess i will have to contact them and spend a day of my life getting an email version of the confused thai no hab face.

The email contained the following which brought a smile.

    Dear Valued Customer,

    flight details............

We do apologize for any inconvenience caused. For further information or any assistance, please contact the travel agent where you purchased the ticket, or THAI office nearby, if you are booked directly with THAI or via THAI’s website.

    Thank you for flying THAI.

Or not flying with THAI it seems, gawd love em.
