Thai Airways has now moved both my flights, the outward bound has been moved from night time to daytime on the same day. The return leg has been pushed back a day. They have no fooking clue atm, i reckon they have given the buttons to Prayut to have a play of an evening.

On a lighter note i have received an Email offer from Holiday Extras - "Working from home? A perfect time to get in the mood for next winters holiday". Mmm cept i'm not really in the mood for a winter skiing break to the Cervinia.

Yeh, well I'm sharing a house with my 80 year old mum and 78 year old stepdad- I've got to take this self isolation seriously. Pubs & restaurants closed anyway.
Looks like it's video games, old movies and obscure music to keep me sane. Washed down with cheap Port. Thank goodness for the internet.

All non essential businesses have been ordered to close here at 5 pm today.
Not sure how that will impact my work yet but I'm thinking it's game over for now.

Borrowed a .22 and a classic double barrel from a buddy just in case someone tries for my frozen pizza supply.
Hopefully will be returning them in a few weeks unused.

More walks, luckily we live on the end of a paddock, horses and gully - nice for getting out . . . and finding these on a daily basis. Roghly a kg this morning, from open hooded to button. Most we leave to grow.

A bit of garlic and onions . . . beautiful

It’s OK - eat them anyway. What Tomcat doesn’t know won’t hurt him.

    From several supermarkets, same content:

    Hi,

As you will likely be aware, PM Jacinda Ardern announced today that New Zealand has moved to Alert Level 3 of the National Pandemic Plan, in order to flatten the curve of COVID-19. These are extraordinary times and if we are to protect our people, extreme measures do need to be taken.

Please be assured that our New World stores remain 100% committed to ensuring your grocery needs are met and we are doing everything we can to make this happen.

Supermarkets are one of the essential services, as identified by the government, and will remain open and able to meet your needs. But please know, the alert Level 3 status will now impact how our stores will operate:

    Reduced store hours

Individual stores will determine their own operating hours and may choose to reduce them to be able to restock shelves. Individual stores will make this call based on the needs of their community. Please visit newworld.co.nz or your local store’s Facebook page to stay across your supermarket's trading hours.

    Staff protection measures

You will begin to see various staff protection measures in place at your local store including staff wearing masks, protective screens at checkout, and floor decals, communicating the appropriate 2m physical distancing length. We ask you to please comply with store signage and staff direction to maintain physical distancing.

    Community shopping hours

We’re in communication with elderly support groups and they have told us specific shopping hours aren’t what they are looking for, it also does not align with the Ministry of Health's guidance for the over 70's to stay at home. The most important message here is for you to #shopnormal, so there is product on the shelves for the elderly when friends and relatives are shopping for them.

Nominate a family member to shop

To comply with physical distancing recommendations, and to ensure there is a steady flow of traffic in and out of stores within our ‘one in, one out’ system, we are asking you to please shop alone when coming into your local store. This is to ensure the number of people in-store at any one time is kept to a minimum – by leaving your loved ones at home you are helping to keep them safe.

    Contactless payment

We encourage you to use contactless payments such as payWave as another way of reducing contact between you and staff. Help us keep you safe.

    Shop online

We have introduced contactless online shopping delivery for customers who are self-isolating, vulnerable or unwell – we ask you to simply let the team know in the comments section when the order is placed. We also ask if you are feeling unwell, to please not come to the store to collect your Click & Collect order and to instead arrange a friend or family member to pick up your groceries for you.

    #shopnormal

We continue to ask you not to stockpile; this is so everyone has a fair shot at buying their grocery essentials. When someone buys five packs of toilet paper, and they only need one, they are taking away from four other people who may have needed it. Some customers might not have the resources to buy up or the ability to visit the store every day. Please buy what you need and be fair to others.

    Be kind

We are asking you to please support us, as we work hard to continue meeting our goal of ensuring everyone has access to grocery essentials. We ask that everyone please remains patient and considerate to each other and staff during this time.

New World has seen New Zealand through trying times before and we’ll continue to be there for you during this hard time. Please be patient, considerate and kind and we’ll get through this together.

    Kia kaha,
    The New World Team

You're in Thailand right? No way would I be leaving here and expecting to be able to get back in with the parameters in place at the airport now. More so on TG who, unlike other Airlines, will probably just stop all International flights with no notice when the time comes. And that time will come.

    Good luck!

Yup, holders of return tickets should consider them to be 'one way' at best.

    Wherever they are.

You are lucky they are flying at all. Hold on a better chance of total cancelation than getting to fly to the LOS. What dates are you aiming for?

Well whatever her failings or shortcomings as PM (and I legit don't really know, pay about as much attention to NZ politics as I do my personal hygiene ) she is certainly better than the alternative, that Simon Bridges twat?

There's a smug face I'd love to slap!

Also been told not to go out in public without a mask. Police are stopping and warning those who do - Particularly foreigners apparently. Been told first time warning, second time off to the monkey house. No idea how true. But I will dutifully put my pretty much useless mask on to keep all and sundry happy.

    Probably advisable I'd say.

Kinda moot here in CNX currently, everyone pretty much wants to wear masks outside regardless.
