They (Thai local Govt) have ordered all bars, pubs, gyms, (and other places of assembly) closed here in Banchang, Rayong until the end of this month. Stipulating that possible further closures will be announced. No mention of if any compensation for loss of business is available.
I'm in Guernsey at moment very quiet but no closures yet.
But things could change, well the UK could very well go into lock down soon.
^Talking online with a friend who runs a guesthouse in Whitby yesterday. He told me the pubs there are choc-a-bloc with punters..
very depressing, can't even wank properly, it's so fooking quiet everywhere
no cars in street, can only hear birds
this is getting stressful
I fell like I've landed on Mayfair with 3 frigging hotels on it...and I just paid out on Bond Street. Thank goodness I have the retreat of a house and farm in one of the most isolated parts of Thailand. Having said that there was a case reported in Sawan Daeng Din, which is only 60km away.
I expect to take 2 months unpaid leave and then find they don't need me anymore. I guess I should have retired in December instead of going for just another year.
I note that i cannot buy my normal 3x Leverage WTI Crude ETF, 2x yes. #1st world investment problems.
Another month of teaching online, AO was correct.
Just got word tonight that we will have to shut our restaurant and our guesthouse for two weeks.
That will prove interesting as we have some guests that are booked in for a month.
it is very unclear as to what restrictions are being put on us.
Home! 3am and my wife greets me by spraying me with disinfectant in the garage . . . and then I retreat to my bedroom, now nicely decked in with a desk to work at and some back massage thingies. Luckily it's a corner bedroom, large with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe - bright and looking over the park which adjoins the back of our place
Self-isolation, here we come
Well i did ignore 3 Emails from ButtflyAssManagers.com but successfully dealt in the end. Reckoning on $22 WTI being quite a low historically, the ETF is a open ended so it is not 1 or 3 year end dated - i was aiming at a bottom buy which is probably why i got emails from the Algerian Boiler house but even if it tanks to $14 or less i am in for 3-4 years and can't believe it will be less than 40-50 dorrahs at some point which under leverage should I get 5x money or a bag of fish and chips given the UK economy and Sausages inflation predictions. I really need expert advice on this shit, like does it come with real barrels? and how does i store it?
The virus hasn't affected me in a negative way yet but it has made it easier to get a parking space when out shopping. Fewer people shopping in malls means more free parking spaces.
^ is that CORVID or just people worried about getting sprayed with auto fire by a Sgt annoyed post clock off?
It could be a combination of both, I suppose.
Next time I'll be sure to ask those who didn't come why they stayed at home.
I'll get me coat.
^ please do.
This thread title is now completely redundant.
The local bosses running Luang Prabang have apparently told the evening food carts to shut up shop, presumably because they don't want crowds to gather. This is annoying because I usually buy a salad and avocado baguette from one young lass. She never wears gloves when handling the food, and often has her hand down her pants (thought that was just for the tuna salad...). In any case, I've never caught anything nasty from eating from that cart. I'll have to prepare my own salads from now on.
Online teaching all continues fine. I'm virtually in self-isolation anyway, because I teach so many hours each day, that it's rare to see me outside...
Groping women when you're old is fine - everyone thinks you're senile
