We all need hobbies in these lonely times...

Only nine crates of Carlsberg left but they had Tomcat's favourite Multepulcialu tipple in there, so took there last ten, a few voddies and a Jamiesons

Carlsberg, probably the worst lager in the world...

    Nonetheless, a decent effort.

I have a real dilemma at the moment and I'm not sure what to do . I traveled to the UK with my daughter (17) 10 days ago (school holidays) to see my father who's ok but incapacitated. I don't know whether my daughter will be better off here or back in Thailand with her mother , sisters and family. WE are not due to return until May and I fully expect unnecessary travel to be banned by then. I will be receiving my new UK passport within the next 3-5 days and then have to apply for a non o visa which will take at least a week.

MY options as I see it are
    1. send her back now on her own (emirates to their credit are offering free change of ticket)
    2. wait for my passport and visa approx 2 weeks and go back together if still doable
    3. take her back as soon as I get my passport then come back here myself alone
    4. do nothing and carry on as planned.

Waiting to here from uni back in Blighty, could be good in that they will just adapt my final assignment to the situation, or could be bad in that they suspend studies. A little stress out about it, but little point in that as it's out of my control. Got to the second stage of a job in BKK, but not sure this is the best year to relocate.

    ^^ a tricky one.
I'd hang on til you get your passport. Even if they do shut Thailand down, like Malaysia, it will probably only be for a couple of weeks and she is a Thai citizen

Thailand are letting anyone in at the moment and they won't wanna be losing any tourist income for long and will continue to bullshit their real figures.

You're only young, you will soon get it in Thailand and fight it off....unless all that Mongolian polluted air you've been sucking in for the last 2 years has fucked your lungs up. You wouldn't want corona then.

Yea, I cant find anything either . . . but thanks for the heads-up anyway.

I think I was had with a bit of a practical joke. I was in the hotel lift and three young guys got in and they asked me if I was here on holidays for business, I replied business but that I was flying off tomorrow to KL and then Friday home . . . one of them cheekily said the government just announced grounding of all domestic flights.

Cheeky prats . . . I've been seeing planes fly around the airport since then from the pool bar . . . I think I was had. Nicely done, kudos.

    Thanks again for checking!

Half the kids not at school today.

A lot less cars on the road.

    Virtually everything shut down.

People out and about getting fresh air and exercise but keeping their distance.

Gonna have to cancel my youngest birthday party this weekend as the government are warning against social gatherings.

A lot of frightened people about, you can see it in their eyes.

My gym is shut so on my bike most days trying to stay fit.

Ran out of alcohol so started self medicating with the herbal stuff.

Just got laid off for 6 weeks and was thinking of flying over to LOS.

But the govt shutting down the entertainment areas has put the kibosh on that

Breakfast dining room closed - delivery to the room only. The pool area is closed. Have to stay in my room until I go to the airport.

    Small matters, but still annoying.

you can always drive to KL , but I would expect flights to start being few shortly to anywhere - airlines are mothballing aircraft and soon we will see airlines in bankruptcy

Our new reality. Get used of it. Think it's going to go on for a long time to come.
