    I beg to differ:

"The Waco siege was the siege of a compound which belonged to the religious sect Branch Davidians, and it was carried out by American federal and Texas state law enforcement, as well as by the U.S. military,"

Upon the ATF's failure to raid the compound, a siege lasting 51 days was initiated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Eventually, the FBI launched an assault and initiated a tear gas attack in an attempt to force the Branch Davidians out of the ranch. During the attack, a fire engulfed Mount Carmel Center. This resulted in the deaths of 76 Branch Davidians, including 25 children, two pregnant women and David Koresh.[7][8]"

True, but those were/are battle-hardened fighters fighting against a foreign invader. Foreign in region, religion, ethnicity. These insipid inbreds spend an hour on a Sunday, after beating their wife, shooting their guns at cans and trees while sipping their Miller Light.

You can't compare the two, surely.

The initial battle was with the ATF, they lost, then the feds showed up and eventually set fire to the place (not really a battle was it), killing women and children and winning hearts and minds. And then along came Timothy McVeigh.

The Military might have played a role in intelligence, but never fired a shot, as far as I know.

^^^ re Waco, I thought the sect started the fire, hence the acronym We Are Cremating Ourselves.

CS gas is very incendiary, and the feds were poking holes in the wall to allow better airflow on a windy day.

Anyways, this is probably the wrong thread for this discussion.

A good documentary on Waco is Waco: The Rules of Engagement. Not a YouTube conspiracy film, it was made long before youtube and had national television coverage.

As I recall, ATF cocked up after which there was no battle but a standoff during which several failed attempts were made to infiltrate the compound, further embarrassing the authorities until politicians were pressured to send in the big guns, regardless of cost. These situations always rest with politicians, not those on the front line.

Can only speculate how the same situation would be handled today, though it would probably result in far fewer lost lives.

One statement on gun control in the USA - the USA has fifty states and each individual state has its own gun control legislation rules and regs.

In New Jersey I had to attend 40 hours training for a purchase permit (gun or ammo). In Virginia, a virginia drivers license allowed you to walk into a shop and buy the pistol of your choice. In Mississippi, a letter from the police chief allowed you to purchase just about anything you wanted.

I believe Texas allows concealed carry by residents.

America gun laws are State contolled and regulated - same with the Ganja laws. Blanket statements concerning gun control in the US are flawed.

Area I'm at in Nonthaburi hardly even notice any disruption. The only actual changes I've seen is Westgate Mall closed Tops Grocery and Food Stalls remained open. More face masks being worn, yet, a disturbing number of folks going about bare faced. They really do not seem to care and do not seem to be impacted. A few of the seedier side of my extended family report a significant drop-off in betting as many, many unemployed are bypassing the games.

Have a couple of stall vendor family members who shut down their stalls in Bangkok metro - amulet and girls dresses. I know one got his THB 5k stipend, I believe the other is still waiting.

But, very minor actual disruptions seen in the North of Nonthaburi province.

When enjoying a wonderful evening - post 8 o'clock /meal with 12+ friends, most of whom enjoy drinking wine.

This particular restaurant, luckily, PPPPP , it had a licence to sell alcohol along with an extensive wine list. Which we fully utilised. I am aware that some eating stops/fast food "restaurants", in NA, do not have a licence to sell alcohol.

I don't know enough about it in detail, so I'll take your word for it. I do remember the brouhaha when Trump wanted to send troops to the Mexican border

Uhmm......he did send troops to the Mexican border. Not sure how protecting a border relates to an insurrection.

Not a matter of insurrection, rather usage of the military on domestic soil

    (I'm agreeing with you)

One presumes both are considered, by civilians, as "government", town, city, county, state and federal. They are all democratically elected, allegedly.

Irrespective of which branch of the police it was, it is a bad comparison. Law enforcement agencies generally try to capture not kill, and secondly the presence of women and children tied one hand behind the back of the agencies.

straight up conflict between militia and trained agents, SWAT etc (or even national guard who are easier to deploy on US soil I think) would be a very different kettle of fish.

Wiki seems to state differently to you.

    Politics of the United States

    Local government

"There are 89,500 local governments, including 3,033 counties, 19,492 municipalities, 16,500 townships, 13,000 school districts, and 37,000 other special districts that deal with issues like fire protection.[1] Local governments directly serve the needs of the people, providing everything from police and fire protection to sanitary codes, health regulations, education, public transportation, and housing. Typically local elections are nonpartisan--local activists suspend their party affiliations when campaigning and governing.[2]"

Politics of the United States - Wikipedia

I presumed all the legally responsible, US political entities:

    1. town councils
    2. city councils
    3. county councils
    4. state governments
    5. federal governments

are elected by legally binding public election with democratic procedures.

These elected entities are responsible, at different levels, for creating, funding and managing the police, national guard, "intelligence" agencies and military.

    If not who is?

In England and I presume Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, there are fewer:

    1. town councils
    2. city councils
    3. county councils
    4. national parliament, which includes England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The police are generally county managed, but there is a National organisation, "intelligence" agencies and military by the national government.

We put in a request for a weekend box of beer.

We were hoping for something European.

One box of large beer Singhas. Price B1,200. We need to pick it up and risk imprisonment. Take it or leave it.

I guess we'll make a Thai weekend out of it by putting on Channel 7 and eating offal.

    I am not a conspiracy theorist but the events over the last 2 months has led me to re-evaluate my position regarding the following;

    1. Who killed J.F.K

    2. Was Marilyn Monroe murdered

    3. Who was responsible for Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance

    4. The Roswell cover up

    5. Did Neil Armstrong walk on the moon

    6. Who killed O.J Simpson's wife

    7. Was the September 11th attack staged

    8. Were Weapons of Mass Distruction ever found

    9. How and why was Donald Trump elected

    10. Is the Covid 19 pandemic a planned event concocted by various interested parties....................................

Most probably feel I have far to much time on my hands but I cannot help to question certain events and those that are in power at the moment.

    ^ Fair call . . . hmmm . . . must think about this as well.

One thing this new world order-created chaos has done is for billions to think about the new world order that was supposed to be kept secret but because of the time we have now to think about the new world order.
