No, you certainly cannot. That would be weird. What you could do though is give the dog a break and dress yourself up.

^ And that would be more normal?

^^ I'm starting to wish I'd never mentioned that unfortunate incident. It's all forgotten about here, but I can see you're just not gonna let it go...

We haven't experienced any of that. Twice weekly refuse collection and weekly water delivery is happening as normal.

Well its not going to affect me as I went to Makro last weekend and stocked up but from Wish Beer to my email inbox.

    IMPORTANT!!

It's just been announced that an Alcohol Ban has been announced in Bangkok starting April 10 until April 20.

Therefore, we won't be selling alcohol during this period.

If you're rushing to our website right now, it's possible there will be some delays and some undelivered orders... We apologize for that in advance.

I went to a 7-11 this afternoon and as I walked in the staff told me that there's no alcohol on sale from tomorrow, so to buy it today.

Which I thought was nice of them, though you just know there's gonna be some clueless guy go to buy some tomorrow, then go completely nuclear when he's informed that he can't buy any for the next 10 days.

...why is an alcohol ban necessary, I wonder...perhaps to prevent folks from possibly enjoying their sequestration?...to add another layer of incomprehensible frustration? To demonstrate that the collective poo yai can do what they want and are above questioning?...

All BKK, and its not going to be easy to get out of your province during this period. Of course there are ways around it, but its not going to be like going to 7/11 to pick up a little liquor..

I have not seen this confirmed but believe it to be true..

    Confirmed.

    Bangkok-
In a statement from Police Major General Pongsakorn Kwanmuang at the Covid 19 Disease Management Center in Bangkok at 1:30 PM this afternoon that was reported widely on Thai Media he stated that Bangkok would cease all sales of alcohol from April 10 to 20.
The official reason stated was to help encourage social distancing and stop the spread of Covid-19, however, it is also believed according to many comments on Thai social media that this follows similar moves in Chiang Mai to stop people from gathering and drinking during the traditional Thai New Year, or Songkran, which falls during the same period.

The reason the government said it banned alcohol sales here was to prevent social gatherings.

All it seems to have achieved here is a run on bulk alcohol sales leading up to the ban.

Slightly odd occurence today. Did a small on-line delivery order which included some wine from Villa Market for delivery tomorrow morning. Just got a text from them:

Thank you for shopping with Villa Market. As announced by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, all alcohol sales are banned from April 10 - 20, 2020 (inclusive). FYI, we plan to process your order today and deliver as per your agreed delivery schedule. Please let us know if you have any questions? More info: 02-779-1000

Alcohol sales aren't banned in Phuket (yet), and delivery will be from my local Villa anyway.

So bring on the bender drinking. Loads of twats will be stocked up and drink all day until they supply the stocked up on is exhausted. Dim Prik Coot (NPT) comes to mind.

No, no, it's good to share, and I'm sure you'll live it down, eventually, maybe.

If you could post in the proper colors, it would be great.

It's a big move, considering how powerful the Sirivadhanabhakdi and Bhirombhakdi families are.

Its a Steak and Sydney, mash and peas all oooout the freezer and all microwaved so minimal disruption whilst i endeavour to make up lost time and live up to Ron's expectations. #9thou9andsomething.

At 5pm Villa was packed with everyone buying wine. My local Tesco express was almost out due to one guy but the Big Little C next door was fully stocked.

Not sure if Samut Prakan falls into the "Bangkok" lock down as it's normally referred to as BKK Metropolitan. But I've got enough booze.
I'd like to see what morning looks like
Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

In good old Sth Australia, we have had a grand total of 3 CV deaths now (one more than was killed by magpies last year), and the rate of new infections has dropped sharply- but we're still subject to similar lockdown provisions as the eastern states.

There is some talk of using us as a guinea pig (sorry, test case), and reducing the lockdown provisions here sooner than other states- to 'see what happens'. I hope they do, but parochial local politicians are predictably up in arms about it.

    That's SA for ya.
