The thing about using something like a "Password Checkup extension", you are allowing that extension access to all your passwords. If ever that app is compromised (or "leaks" data), your passwords will be compromised.

It's a bit too long for them since they struggle with even multisyllabic words.

And to a much, much lesser extent, when squirrel (?) hacked PB or Momo's photobucket account.
The funniest 'hack' was Smeg managing to ban himself from his own forum and having to engage help desk.

Yeah, upon adding the Extension is says that it can see and change your data.

Added it, tested a few site, removed it.

    true. but...

    1. it will soon come built in to future versions of chrome, so anyone who uses chrome and saves passwords will be essentially using this extension.

    2. i don't let chrome save passwords for banking sites...mainly just sites like TD....i do use it for email, which is almost certainly a mistake.

i've been meaning to get a password manager for a while now.

I don't use a password manager and I don't let browsers save my passwords. Both are potential risks, IMO. I'd rather remember myself. The only risk I have is forgetting my password.

Yes in all honesty you are better saving them to a notepad or word doc and giving the list a nondescript name. Or just write them on a slip of paper even. Even better to use a site like this to generate a random password...

One of the hacks I personally enjoyed was when one of the subzero mods hacked momo's account on ajarn and discovered "intimate" conversations between momo and bangkok phil.

I think of a phrase that's easy for me to remember like "Noyes sucks Lady boy Balls 2night!" and use the first letter of each word in alternating capitals, so the pw would be NsLbB2n!"

It's an example of an easily remembered password, not a suggestion of what the guy actually does.

And it was more like 7 years of hell.
