^ having an open mind is the key.

If you want to learn the language, you will.

why would anyone bother to learn a monkey language like Thai and turn into a Thai thinking monkey

language drive your thoughts people, learning Thai will contaminate your logic and good sense and turn you into a chicken head

It seriously pisses them off when you read the real prices off the menu.

Was almost garroted once in Pattaya when the beachside 'Shower' was 40thb and the 'อาบน้ำ' was ๑๐ บาท, when I insisted that I wanted to 'อาบน้ำ' and not to 'Shao-urrr' while pointing at the prices on the wall.

Christ the old bat completely lost it.

For old fellas, has largely to do with the prostate, less the testicles.

    Get fatter and lazier.
End up having a hissy-fit after 10 years of it and flounce in a huff.

They are, in a word, Dillinger.

Now you have just got your yellow book which has taken you over a decade to get...you seem to have gone full fukkin Thai on us

    So

Remaining in Thailand and not travelling the region whilst enjoying 3 nice holidays a year, which in effect stops you from having to go to immigration to draw a map back to your house or take photos of yourself sat on the marital bed with one of your mistresses or having the hassle of filling in TM30s every time you move around the Country in fear of being fined when you show back up at the Immigration Office.

Not learning fluent Thai hinders your life because when you don't go abroad 3 times a year you put those savings to good use by doing day trips to Pattaya where you get charged an extra 5 baht to enter a stinking shack to chuck a bucket of Pattaya's finest tap water over your head

Walking 10 kilometres a day to do the school run because you poured the coolant down the wrong hole and fucked your jalope up.

That is in a word....Lu Krung

They all speak really good English here Jeff, they aren't oppressed and kept dumb like your average Thai, they use proper 3 pin plugs and earthed electricity. it's a richer Country with a third of the people, less traffic, safer roads, cleaner air. Petrol is half the price that it is in Thailand. The Natives are friendlier and the place isn't full of sex pest expats.
Tourists are more welcome with 90 days instead of Thailands 30.
The food is better, the 7/11 fare is better, McDonalds, KFC and Burger King all taste better than the Thai franchises.... and Nandos are here
And its all the better for being colonised by the Empire

The one dear thing is alcohol, unless you know a Chinese guy who smuggles from Duty Free Langkawi.

Malay men are some of the most dull I met in my travels in SEA. And hypocrites....Muslim, but they go in droves to Hat Yai on sex tours.

Some of the women are educated and intelligent though.

It is when he's a vendor displaying Thai numerals...for some.

Really helps to be able to learn the lingo to barter that 10 baht down even though they'll still tell you to fuck off honkey

Some are, some aren't, just like everywhere else. They make up less than 30% of the population so you can avoid them if you wish. I know quite a few well-educated, interesting ones . . . and many others are simply quite shy.

The simples that don't even know their own language are typically the ones that end up frustrated to the point of flouncing from the place.

It must be simply awful having to communicate through grunts and groans and points of their hoof.

Being Prancer it would've either been in line for the porridge at a breakfast buffet or from Grindr.
