She's a tough little girl and a whole lot happier. Wife will be staying here to take her back and forth until April. Fingers crossed, she won't have to make such regular visits afterwards.
Nice to hear that. Hope she recovers completely soon.

I'm not sure its just the craftsmanship. The Mrs has wooden doors on all her "Knocking Shops" as Dill likes to call them and they don't stick. Her secret is to have them properly sealed with varnish, 3 coats especially top and bottom edges. I think many Thais don't do this and leave these edges almost untreated.

I gave up on wooden doors and windows. Converted to aluminum. Not as beautiful but no kung-fu needed to the doors and windows.

^ Some of the nicest strawberries I eaten came from the CM Markets.

Not the biggest strawberries, but certainly amongst the tastiest.

The smell is quite good. I washed them up and put in fridge and when I open it up I get a big whoosh of strawberry smell. Season here is almost over.

I bought myself a set of these Deco mesh wifi thingies from Lazada to extend the wifi network around the garden and to fill various gaps in coverage. I set it up this morning and it's worked a treat... theoretically I can now watch Pornhub from the sala down by the pond. Before there was no coverage by the pond at all.

I borrowed the gardener's phone to set him up on the new network... and discovered that he wasn't even on the existing network and that he's been on 4G throughout the last few years. I do wonder at times. I set him up on the wifi and he was so happy he swept and mopped out the house.

Yesterday the wife departed for yet another 3 day funeral of some distant relative who she probably never even met. I was very pissed off with her out of principle for just fukking off when she feels like it... but of course you should never look a gift horse in the mouth and with any luck she'll get delayed and I'll have a lovely peaceful time with my daughter during her upcoming 5 day Chinese New Year holiday.

They say good things come in threes... so I'm all done.

    Beat that!

I hear the word ควาย (Kwai) from my wife quite often, I'm told it's a term of endearment.

I'd been walking around since our cold snap started with blocked sinuses and a nose full of snot. On Tuesday evening, I finally lost most of my sense of taste and smell and I thought that would be it for the weekend.

But no, today brings a new dawn and I'm almost clear of the nagging pain and can taste things again! Fuck off winter back to whence you came and don't bother me again for another 12 months.

Finally the Home Office have been in touch regarding the wife's visa...A year after applying.

In hindsight I should have paid the 500 pound fast track and done in 5 days fee, although I didn't imagine it would take a fukkin year of those bastards partying.

Now that she's legal, does that mean you're gonna have to start paying her to undercook those sausages then?

In all seriousness, what changes now she has the paperwork rubber stamped? I presume she can legally work, but does the visa need to be renewed every few years or so?

^ I've forgotten most of it.

Yeah I think she can work and it's a settlement visa so will be good for 2 and a half years, then she'll be able to go for Nationality.

I'll have to look into it all again. Think I'm getting alzheimers.

And then she'll be able to go for Nationality

Hey,dill make sure she starts practicing for them tests otherwise you'll be stumping up for another 2.5 year visa after this one, then theres the citizenship on top.
A lot of things have changed, good luck with it all. Rather you than me.

^ She's failed that life in the UK test once already, although I would have too.

She knows a lot more than me about English history and cuture and has the book but plenty of time.
