Back in the village at last...family children and 5 dogs running around in wild excitement. Lot's of things need doing after 18months away but it's great to be back. Longest I've been away for 23 years.
^ congrats Sir.
She is dancing around as if nothing was wrong. Wife and I are careful to keep our distance but she understands why. She had her routine chemo on Saturday and started school again last week. Her tummy is still a little bloated and walking is forced but hospital has done a fantastic job.
^ that's fantastic news and I hope the treatment is successful.
I left the car covered in the garage expecting to be back by Christmas last year. Didn't bother putting it on jackstands and no protection underneath apart from moth balls.
Opened the bonnet today to reconnect the battery and had to clear 4 mouse nests from engine compartment. They'd eaten through the plastic where the windscreen wiper mechanism is housed. I was fearing the worst but charged battery and it burst into life. Jolly happy about that...tyres needed some air, but all looks to be okay. Good to drive to garage and get a diagnostic check and inspection.
Family say I stink of dead rat now so I guess they made a nest in the Air con again.
Any advice for keeping the mice away would be welcome.
Traps that are regularly checked or a pet rat snake
Actually often the simplest solution is the best, cats. We have the and never a problem with rats or snakes
That's a point...where's the cat? I haven't seen her since we arrived.
^ She went back to BIL house a couple of months ago...got sick of the dogs chasing her all the time.
Still happy to be back despite sharing the kitchen with ants. They've managed to get into everything since we've been away. Adds a bit of protein to the meal....
With Eng predictably crumbing like an Italian bridge the local Thai news always raises a smile in the face of adversity. A news story where a bloke was shown crying because he'd lost someone in a building site accident was lightened by said chaps T-shirt which had the words "Fucking Magic" emblazoned in large letters across the front.
The wife managed to get her driving licence renewed yesterday without problems; it was meant to be renewed last December but we couldn't get back due to Covid. Even better, wife found my international driving licence and it's valid until December 2022. I thought it was up for renewal this year...
Mouse damage to the car was limited to air filter and windscreen wipers...they had chewed all the wiring to the wiper motor but enough left to rewire without having to get a new loom.
^ Another UK con...in Europe you get one for the maximum allowable 3 years.
Just a side note - it's a permit, not a licence.
Well I gotta say, what a very nice Friday. Got up early took a nice mountain bike ride. Came back and con calls to States cancelled, Perfect. Not letting the day go to waste I cleaned and power washed the car park area. Looks like new. Did a nice pool vacuum, had a beer while also watching some NFL. Washed my truck and detailed inside, had a beer. Washed up the Scoopy I and Wave. Wife and Niece happy.
The weather is absolutely just perfect. 13c in am, 24c mid day and a very slight breeze with bright blue skies. Will toss a nice Ribeye on the Q with a big tater and enjoy another ice cold beer.
Happy Friday.
Off to Hua Hin for a footy weekend with The Lads.
Just hope something's open...
Man, what a Beeeeeeeautifulllll day. I received my Shoei helmet safety and impact foam Yesterday from the US. Mine after 7 years had finally taken a dive. Installed it all in the morning and took off on a mountain ride on the RVF
Stopped for a quick pic after leaving the little village area in the mountains. From here on out its all open mountain windy roads
Stopped at the top before I head back
Returned back after an hour and half. Parked the moto and enjoyed an Ice cold beer.
Cheers
After a weekend of football in the sun I'm completely broken. But Monday off so, yay.
5 nights in a row and no fan, nothing. Bliss
