    Annnnyyyyway,

Spring is here and with it BBC Gardeners World which is great on a Sunday morning. Over a year ago they had a slot featuring a lady called Sue Kent who lives in Wales and has a large garden to look after. Nothing unusual in that but she was a Thalidomide baby and has tiny malformed hands, its truly amazing seeing her garden and today they have re-visited her.

If you can, look it up.

You can look her up on Google and the Beeb has her episode.

Was at a religious reading group a few months ago, and made good friends with one religious reader. One read led to another read, and what do you know, next morning we're still reading together.

Anyway, out of the blue, radio unsilence.

    Praise the lord.

Better find a fumigator mind, haven't been there in a few weeks.

Sitting at my table, looking out through the open doors, when a Purple Sunbird flew in. It stopped mid-air, the way they can, in the middle of the room, took one look at me and did a 180 on the spot before leaving as it had arrived.
Life is made up of little moments.

(I see one from time to time around the garden. It never looks purple to me. Sometimes metallic black and sometimes a bit bottle-green and black. I cannot find another sunbird that it could be and if anyone has suggestions I'd like to know.)

Shutree - Life is made up of little moments (2021). Teakdoor Records

    INTRO

    Sitting at my table,
looking out through the open doors,
when a Purple Sunbird flew in. It stopped mid-air, the way they can,
in the middle of the room,
took one look at me and did a 180 on the spot before leaving as it had arrived.
Life is made up of little moments.

    CHORUS

Life is made up of little moments.
Life is made up of little moments.
Posting on the 'Door each day.
Life is made up of little moments.
Life is made up of little moments.
Typing on my keyboard as it flies away.

    BRIDGE

I see one from time to time around the garden.
It never looks purple to me.
    Sometimes metallic black
And sometimes a bit bottle-green and black.
I cannot find another sunbird that it could be
And if anyone has suggestions I'd like to know.

    REPEAT CHORUS

I think you might have a hit on your hands here?

Despite an incredibly irritating heat rash all across my nether regions, today I keep catching myself walking around the house and garden whistling with a big smile on my face. Even the gardener's been giving me funny looks... he's used to me grouching and picking him up on shoddy 'work'.

Sure, the dogs' health have improved and I have a home for more puppies, and the daughter will be on holiday after today but that doesn't really explain such an unexpected buoyant mood. Almost euphoric I would say.

Anyway, I have no time to ponder these things... I'm busy today. The wife has asked me to help her pack as she goes away tomorrow for a few days with her family over Songkran.

Good stuff. 15% is the % that abs are starting to be visible and defined.

A year has passed since NokAir promised me a refund on my flight cancelled due to Covid. Nothing better to do so yesterday I sent them a terse email reminder.
They replied very promptly and politely that if I checked my bank the funds were credited in June 2020. They never told me and I never noticed. An embarrassed, courteous reply was sent.
Joy, enough cash for a bottle of decent gin.

I've had three health issues niggling me for ages so I went to the Bangkok Hospital today to get them checked out. I know they say that blokes are terrible at addressing health issues... and that's exactly right. I didn't want to go in case of bad news.

BLD's talking about a hernia op got me thinking about the discomfort I've been having for a while at the location of an old hernia op and I thought it had popped again... but of course didn't want it confirmed because of all the inconvenience that would ensue. After a rummage around the hernia doc gave me the all clear. It must just be a strain.

I ran out of blood pressure pills back in January while I was trapped in Sweden, and for two months before that I'd been taking them only every other day to ration my stock. My blood pressure was a bit high today but not too bad and a lot better than I'd feared. The doc assures me that weight loss will sort this out... so I now have hopefully my last prescription of pills.

And, about a year ago I got a lump on the palm of my left hand. I thought it would just go away but it didn't... and now I get a bit of pain now and again, especially along the tendon of my middle finger. I thought it was time to get this checked out... and the doc thinks this is no problem, maybe a cyst on the tendon, but recommends an MRI scan to make sure... (once he saw I had good insurance!). I'll follow through with this, but a big relief.

Weight loss it is. On the way back from the hospital I got meself a box of Mont Clair... no more Leo for me.
