6 pm the sweet spot darkish but not too dark you can see the bats doing their aerobatics.... case nearly closed.

Told the Mrs not to cook lets abuse ourselves of a resto.....its got Tom Yam written all over it..Its the Isaam Moo Yang and Soup place and it distinguishes itself as fooking delish, i could sit with a straw and drink the Tom Yam Short Rib Soup on my own...firey and would melt the lard off Hutter.

Life continues to be gwate as long as 28 day with fois gras isn't your passion.

Someone has a relief on Christmas day...and the anti-skid brakes work well on my SUV...not quite a Jag but screeched to a halt in time. My word, that was a close call. Hoping the kid that ran out on the dual carriageway didn't kak himself...

I'm so happy that I've finally got my children's bedrooms to where they need to be, courtesy of IKEAS innovative space saving ideas.
They are happy and I'm happy!
Hard work being a full time working father to three children but hugely rewarding.
I love their individual personalities and progress they are making into the world.
They are my legacy and I'm proud of them.

    ^ Nice Chitty.

I too am happy, i approached the New Year with trepidation thinking of new starts but i am happy to report that Mr Sausages is still the biggest repetitive curmudgeon on TD and Syb still posts a lot but never says anything so a new decade dawns and all is well with the world.

In other news, digging around my freezer i have found an ASDA Chicken Madras which is currently being defrosted and will be applied to my face later as a watch the first footie of a new decade - up the Arse.

A whole weekend of Cricket and England doing OK too.. Just a slight downer is TMS, wtf are the Beeb doing with some podcast shite with wanklers talking about cricket rather than the commentary so yet another reason not to pay the license fee to the already over paid wankers.

Still caught up with the rugger club and had my first New Year hangover all is well.

Well, its taken 14 months but the Mrs has finally got shot of some Land we threw some money at 7 years ago. 6 Rai of non titled land she picked up for 65k THB / Rai so 390,000.

She's sold it to a Thai woman who is married to a Yerman and lives there most of the time. Sale was agreed 14 months back at 1.5M THB and the lady paid 600K at the time but has has issues getting the remainder together but its come through now so had a very happy phone call from Mrs Toot.

nice little investment for her...us...the BiL

Shame i'm not there to take her to our favourite Isaan Moo Yang and Short Rib Soup place..lucky girl

^congrats, misskit! Is that for good or just a short visit?

I'm happy for an ashfall-free day! It's sunny and generally a nice day. No earthquake felt yet for today, which is a blessing! Felt small earthquakes the past few days. Gotta count your blessings and be thankful.

Have cleaned my place (generally) of ashfall. Have visited my parents' house, all is well there too. Mom lives farther away from Taal volcano. Her area got some ash, but not quite as much as mine.

    Cheers all!

Well back to the grind on Monday, two weeks based near home, two weeks up Norf in a hotel.

Still its Bwexit tonight and out with a few mates which means Saturday is a write off , a 4am start Sunday morning which may crucify some but i wake before 5 every morning so no biggie.

The good part is that i have less than a year left where i am before relocating Norf, i am genuinely looking forward to it. Worked quite a bit up there over the last year and have found the people to be really friendly.

So all the naysayers like Sausages can wither in their flats, i am looking forward to living oop Norf of the M4 for the first time in my life. I will miss the canal but i may just buy a boat to experiment, they are cheap(ish). I've been a gongoozler too long.

Well it all seems to be depressing news of late; Virus's, Shootings, GM withdrawing from Asia, the soon to be extinct fast food deliveries in the UK under the new immigration rules and all the stories from PH of the many tonnes of animal products making their way to China. On a more positive note its only 10 months til the UK receives its EU decree nisi.

Another bit of good news is from a place i visited a couple of times; South Georgia a UK territorial Island in the Antarctic, famous for being the resting place of Ernest Henry Shackleton, has a detachment of the British Antarctic Survey (odd bunch), has one of the worlds largest King Penguin colonies and a tiny museum run by a couple who sailed down there and never left in one of the buildings in the old Grytviken whaling station buildings. The good new is that the BBC has reported that the waters around the Island once infamous for slaughter of Blue whales has seen the largest number of the mammals recorded since whaling was banned.

Astonishing' blue whale numbers at South Georgia

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-51553381

Scientists say they have seen a remarkable collection of blue whales in the coastal waters around the UK sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia.

Their 23-day survey counted 55 animals - a total that is unprecedented in the decades since commercial whaling ended.

South Georgia was the epicentre for hunting in the early 20th Century.

The territory's boats with their steam-powered harpoons were pivotal in reducing Antarctic blues to just a few hundred individuals.

To witness 55 of them now return to what was once a pre-eminent feeding ground for the population has been described as "truly, truly amazing" by cetacean specialist Dr Trevor Branch from the University of Washington, Seattle.

"To think that in a period of 40 or 50 years, I only had records for two sightings of blue whales around South Georgia. Since 2007, there have been maybe a couple more isolated sightings. So to go from basically nothing to 55 in one year is astonishing," he told BBC News.

"It's such good news to see that they might be further rebounding and coming back to places where they were formerly extremely abundant."

Dr Branch was commenting on the survey which was led by the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) with the support of the University of Auckland.

I will have one. My son just came back from his last ever Ror Dor army cadet training (5 days in the field).

He is now officially exempt from conscription.

Nidhogg, How long did he have to keep going on the cadet training to be exempt?
