The season of goodwill to all men will soon be upon us

We should do a Secret Santa

Anyhow, just been dragged around the Big C Extra and noticed loads of stuff for Yuletide over here this year.

    Advent calendars and chocs

    Ready cooked butterball turkeys

    Joints of beef

And a Happy Holidays to you miserable bastards who will surface shortly

A short reference and looksy at Chico's Poop and Health thread will explain everything sufficiently, if you're not sure, Dills.

    ....and fuck Christmas.

    Cheers, mate!

^^ I brought Advent Calendars over from Norway - never seen them in Thailand before.

Mind you, not surprising I guess in Korat.

Happy Holiday's Dil. I don't do Christmas anymore but will be enjoying a big fat Turkey and all the fixings in a day or so.

I am also thoroughly enjoying the myriad of booze being poured, sometimes as early as 10am.

Temp here in Napa is 2c in morning and 15c tops during the day. Beautiful blue skies. Wife is bundled up like a friggin Eskimo out in the Alaska back country.

Most likely because if they are the type with chocolates inside will melt in the Thai heat.

Nah the chocolate here is different than back home, they stick a kind of wax or something on them.

Yes Dill, the kids reminded that it's now officially less then a month till Santa comes.

Magically, while I was buying a new fridge on the week-end, Santa was in Store and
    the obligatorily snap was captured.

I embrace the multiculturalism gig, heck, I'm living with my Thai Partner, however ...
The Boys are good friends with Yusuf, a Turkish Muslim Boy in their class.
Yusuf is a gun Soccer Player and the Boys like to kick a ball with him.

Yusuf's Dad, toiling away in his Kebab shop has Bah-Humbugged Santa/Christmas ... and decried that,
    no such beast exists.

Now the Boys are questioning Christmas, the Tooth Fairy but, thank God ... the Easter Bunny can still deliver

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, a little sentimental ... but I like the traditions I had when growing up as a kid.

My Thai Partner is on-board with it ... as I am with hers.

It's hard enough trying to smooth the Thai/Western Cultural divide, without bring Yusuf into the fray.

Damm ... I hope Yusuf play Cricket
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

Me too. Fuck Yusuf and his kebabs.

My daughter still believes in the tooth fairy at age 9.
    Long may that innocence last

One trip to northern Europe will change your mind. The Christmas markets are amazing. Carolers still go door to door in towns and the magic of Saint Nic is strong. America was never even close. My family fortunately experienced it together. Sadly only a few of us are left.
