Which isn’t the same as a trial, but if he’s innocent then he sure is disguising it well.

the british queen doesnt need this after the death of her husband,i for one think she has been the greatest that as ever lived,i remember her coming through our village in the cynon valley of wales in a royal car,she made sure the car was driven slowly so she could wave to everyone standing outside our humble 2bed.room terraced houses.she took time to visit the people that suffered the tragedy of aberfan when the chairman of the national coal board responsble couldnt be bothered for the tragedy that killed over a hundred children.

I think he was referring to Epstein pre-trial, i.e when Andy was establishing his friendship with the bloke

How come Prince Andrew is wanted by a US court but the woman who killed a motorcyclist by driving on the wrong side of the road is still at large?

Think there is nothing compelling Andrew to attend the US court. Indeed he could ignore it entirely, except that judgement would automatically be given against him. I believe there was an attempt to get the woman back to UK, which was flatly denied by the States. From reading, she was likely undercover CIA...

...no matter what happens, he'll always have his teddies:

Prince Andrew's Former Maid Had a Day-Long Training on How to Arrange His Collection of 72 Teddy Bears

    Prince Andrew
's former maid is revealing one of the oddest parts of her job: spending an hour every day arranging his collection of 72 teddy bears.
Charlotte Briggs, who worked at Buckingham Palace in the 1990s, told The Sun that she was tasked with the process of meticulously putting the stuffed animals in their place on the royal's bed and around his room.

"As soon as I got the job, I was told about the teddies and it was drilled into me how he wanted them," she told the outlet. "I even had a day's training. Everything had to be just right. It was so peculiar."

Briggs said there were 72 teddy bears from around the globe, many dressed in sailor outfits.

Each day, she arranged the collection so that the biggest teddy bears were put at the back, then placed in order of size to the smallest at the front.
Then at night, Briggs or another maid used a diagram to put the teddy bears in their designated positions around the room. The small bears were stacked in an unused fireplace, while other stuffed animals — including two hippos and a black panther called "Daddy," "Ducks" and "Prince" — were placed on the bed or around the room. Prince Andrew's two favorite teddy bears were placed on mahogany thrones at his bedside.

"It was so odd," Briggs said. "After all, he was a grown man who had served in the Falklands. But he absolutely loved the [at]teddies and was very clear about how he wanted them arranged."

I can't stand the guy but that article is bullshit.

It's this kind of shite reporting that detracts from the fact that he's involved in sex trafficking.

    he's involved in sex trafficking.
i cant stand the guy either, he appears to be an entitled leech and a foul tempered liar living for a long while off the public purse, and i would like to see him humiliated for all the abuse he has handed out to the staff, dogsbodies and minions that have had to quietly tend to his needs.

but just because he humped a 17 year old, more than once, .... and whom by all accounts was well up for it and boasted, that's boasted, not complained, to her friends about it, and now 30 years later has decided to jump on the "abuse" bandwagon, ....it doesn't make him a sex trafficker.

it just makes it harder for those who have really been groomed, trafficked and abused get the justice they deserve.

Yes, what he said. Andy screwed a 17yo Hooker, who was a volunteer, not a conscript.
An absolute prick of a bloke but not guilty of sex trafficking.

does the jurisdiction in question recognize that a 17 year old child can be a volunteer to prostitution?

I think his womanising is well known and not the issue. I suspect that this case is important because it falls into question his credibility because he keeps denying it, even with the photo & the ludicrous cannot sweat comment. What appears to be also well known if not established is that Epstein did abuse much younger girls, including on his island that the Prince stayed at.

*at least I think that’s what it’s all about.

Andy going on the offensive, demands a trial! only the lawyers are going to win in this

Prince Andrew denies close friendship with Ghislaine Maxwell, in US court files

Prince Andrew has denied being a close friend of convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, in a legal response to the woman who is suing him in the US for sexual assault.

Lawyers for the prince also say he wants to go before a jury to contest the claim brought by Virginia Giuffre.

The Duke of York has consistently denied all the allegations against him.

Ms Giuffre alleges he assaulted her when she was 17 at homes owned by Maxwell and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

But in the 11-page court document, filed on Wednesday, Prince Andrew's legal team list a number of reasons why they believe her civil lawsuit should be dismissed.

One factor they ask the court to consider is the issue of consent.

The document says: "Assuming, without admitting, that Giuffre has suffered any injury or damage alleged in the complaint, Giuffre's claims are barred by the doctrine of consent."

The document also states that Prince Andrew "admits that he met Epstein in or around 1999", but denies that he participated in any abuse with the late financier.

On the matter of a photograph of the prince with his arm around Ms Giuffre, with Maxwell in the background, his lawyers say they do not have enough information to admit or deny its existence.

Elsewhere, the document "denies" Ms Guiffre's claim that Prince Andrew was a close friend of Maxwell.

Writing to a US judge, his lawyers state: "Prince Andrew hereby demands a trial by jury on all causes of action asserted in the complaint."

US lawyer Lisa Bloom, who represents a number of Maxwell's and Epstein's accusers, called this demand a "PR move", saying Ms Giuffre had already asked for a jury trial.

She said Prince Andrew's request was "meaningless" as it was Ms Giuffre's constitutional right to have a jury trial if she asked for one.

Tricky line to walk. I did not do it, but if I did, she agreed to it.

So, it seems there are three occasions in question. One in UK, one in New York and one in US Virgin islands.

Age of consent in UK is 16, New York is 17 and US Virgin Islands is 18.

Trafficking is of course a Federal crime (age is 18), but he is not charged in a federal court I believe.

I really doesn't matter. He was never liked as a Royal and i'd go so far as to say despised - in trying to fight this he'll never recover whatever reputation he thinks is being damaged but will only continue to drag himself down further and with him the Queen in her few remaining years.

^ what could possibly go wrong

apparently there are 41 denials being put forward, or as most will see it 41 further chances for him to nail himself to the mast. Some might say he's been ill advised all along, but in this case I thank God for scheming money grabbing lawyers - its comedy gold.

    EDIT

There is a possibility that she will be tried over video link.

Let's face it, she wasn't speeding, wasn't drunk and the likelihood of a custodial sentence is debatable. I believe it was a simple mistake with no malicious intent, and she would probably be punished accordingly. Mostly likely a suspended jail term, heavy fine and lengthy ban.

It depends if her legging it influences the judge (if it goes to Crown Court). Be interesting to see some sentencing stats for this type of offence.

The US citizen Anne Sacoolas is due to face criminal proceedings in the UK, charged with causing the death by dangerous driving of the 19-year-old motorcyclist Harry Dunn.
The 44-year-old is accused of killing the teenager in a road crash outside the US military base RAF Croughton in Northamptonshire on 27 August 2019.
The case would be heard at Westminster magistrates court on 18 January, the Crown Prosecution Service said. It is understood that she will appear via video link, although a spokesperson for the law firm representing Sacoolas said: “While we have always been willing to discuss a virtual hearing, there is no agreement at this time.”

As much as he was more recently known as "Airmiles Andy" due to his lengthy overseas trips to schmooze and play golf on behalf of the British business community, I think perhaps his previous moniker of "Randy Andy" might come in to play.

My old man has a photo of him receiving an Aviation award from the bloke, I keep meaning to ring him and ask if he's burned it yet.
