Yeah but the 1 day refresher is still 29k thb with the CA-EBS.

My local training centre does not offer the CA-EBS with the BOSIET/FOET.

Interestingly though, it does offer it as a stand alone course.

If you do it as part of your survival training it will expire at the same time. If you do the standalone course it is valid forever.

    Wankers.

^ I would say it has Top Drive, a lot of loops to the right of Drk? Land rigs usually built cheap, old designs probably fairly new?

Yes , I think you are correct

Looking again to the right of the tripped strings it does look like cables servicing a top drive

We stay in a resort at the bottom of the mountain and we can drink as much piss as we want. I don't though, I work hard, work out and eat as best as I can while I'm up here.

7" Casing, Great Wall Drilling Company. We were on an Elite Drilling rig for a while and I believe they are actually the same bunch of cowboys.

Would love a go on the GERONIMO! line, but that's a once in a lifetime deal and there's no training for that.

    Maybe this is why:

Do you mean the yo-yo style harnesses? I’ve not seen those in a while.

yes - I used to climb around the top drive and then give the line s sharp tug to lock it so I would have 2 hands free to fault find in the sensor junction box or on the sensors

it connected to another jbox on the drawworks side of the derrick which had a 6 inch folding platform to stand on while I poked around inside - same deal , lock off the retractable cable so I could have both hands free

when you finished with them you would lock them around the handrail outside the dog box , but if you let it go , you had to climb to the top of the derrick to retrieve it - I used to have to go up top every now and again to sort out the aircraft light

When we were working in the shipyards in S.Korea during construction phase we asked for the yo-yo type since we had to wear a harness at all times but Halli’s said they were banned, which basically means they were more expensive. As you say they were great for leaning over and edge to work on something with both hands.

This is my 9th course, 8th refresher.

And I still hate doing it. I'm too old for this shit.
