A fellow TD Member is in dire need of help - spend a minute to have a read, please

I've never done this before and am only doing it now as Simon (Mr R Sole) is a friend of mine and a general all-round nice guy, plus i kmow it is a genuine need.

He's in a bit of bad spot now - well, he's been given a shit-sandwich recently.

His wife, Sunan, has been diagnosed with a particularly nasty type of cancer and Simon has used up his last financial reserves for even the sub-standard medical care in Thailand.

He can't wok much as he has to take care of Sunan, he can't not work as he has to take care of Sunan. You get the idea.

Rock and a hard place . . . add to this their little girl, who is roughly my youngest one's age.

I don't know, nor does he, if the operation she needs will set her right as rain again but the GoFundMe is set up for his daily expenses and he has run out of cash.

So, not much more to say. If you can help, please do so - even a fiver (in any real currency) would help. I've donated and set up my own FB fundraiser but I don't have many FB friends, but that is because he is my friend . . . you wold do so as relative unknowns, but could leave your TD moniker as the donor's name.

And if you can't could you, please, just spread the word.

    Thank you

    PH

Mods - please make this a sticky or move it to another area if appropriate, thank you

    He's only looking for £1000.

    He's halfway there nearly.

He was the first poster to red me and he hasn't posted for years

I'll have a look tomorrow, see if he hasn't hit the target yet

Best wishes to them all btw

    £1000 isn't a lot. He's about £200 short now.

Good luck to the fella, especially to his wife too, and the youngster.

    Yah Teakdoor!

Tbh, I think he will need a lot more than that, and certainly would not begrudge him if the target goes over ! Particularly with a young daughter.

    Fully agree.

It's a sensible target, but if the story is true (& I trust PH, so I donated too) then he probably needs 5 to 10 times that amount just to get through a few months. Hope the fella receives a few $$$ and can make it through.

If he was the first poster to red Dilly then he's a good guy for sure...

    Giving charitable handouts to teflers

A bit of a strange one this, even more strange than the usual backpacker who has no travel insurance and crashed a scooter on an island.

So an online English teacher (no work permit) is supporting a family in Thailand and his wife becomes long-term ill. He gives up work to look after the wife and kid and wants 37,000 baht from wellwishers. Good luck to him but he's put himself in a very tricky situation and I expect he'll be wanting a lot more money than that over the coming months

I think I know who it is. If right it confirms my feelings about him..

    Dear All.

My sister set up the fund raiser and for some reason put a 1,000GBP...which as some of you have said isn't much, and it isn't...We will need more than that sadly!

I want to thank everyone for their kind words and any and all donations. I have helped loads of people out in the past including people I've never met in person! Also done load of environmental work too. Just hoping that comes back to my wife, not really bothered about myself!! Lol

Anyhoo, just about to start work, but wanted to say thanks to all. I might try to set up another fund as the grand isn't going to cut it. It's mainly for travelling expenses and keeping us in food and a roof over our heads as I'm having to take a lot of time off from work to look after the Mrs...I'll post more details about her illness and why it's gone totally tit's up thanks to the Thai doctors!

    Best wishes to all.

    M R Sole. ;-) <3

You know what, each to their own. He's entitled to feel suspicious or non-charitable. Up to him.

When it comes to money/charity, I never judge. I donate to some things, others I do not.

Yep, they misdiagnosed her for 3 months and forced her to stay in hospital and not eat for 2 weeks, which has left her so thin that she can't even consider chemo' at the moment, as even the dumbass doctors have said would kill her!
