You need to get over yourself . . . as a 'Taxexile', clearly a man of great wealth, you should know the trials and tribulations of GoFundMe and FB financial transfer methods.
You petty attempts at trying to look important and dragging something very nice into the dirt are typical of you.

Many thanks for that, PAG. It's the firts time I have done anything like this as well, and only because I actually know Simon and know what he is going through

I only saw that after as well

Suffice it to say that if anyone who has been so kind and donated and wishes to know the ins and outs of how the funds transfers work, please do send me a pm and I will gladly let you know.

I'm not going to let someone like Taxexile who, for whatever reason he gives himself, wants to makes this into something invented and irrelevant to the issue, take away from all of you who donated or shared the appeal among your friends.

I am very pleasantly surprised at how quickly you responded and ow generous you were with either your donation or time.

With Simon's permission I'll kep us up to date a bit on his wife's situation, though Somtamslap seems to be closer to him, physically for sure.

I'm back in the UK, but have had sporadic contact with Simon for the six years I've been here.

    Hello everyone,

Today we have received the terrible news that Sunan's cancer has spread further into her body. As yet we do not know how far, but her oncologist has told Simon that she has a year at best.

We are all beyond devastated. I can't put into words how I feel right now, and I can tell you all that seeing my brother's face via video chat this morning nearly broke me. He is barely hanging on emotionally, and there were tears shed, as you can imagine.

Simon had to take Sunan back to the hospital last night because of the amount of pain she was in, and that's when they said the cancer had spread.

The doctor has said that she is too weak to have Chemo, and in any case, he felt that it would shorten the time she has left. So, from now on in, it is pain relief and other palliative care. She will still likely have to find some way to travel to the hospital in the other province but at this time that is up in the air due to her condition.

Simon has had to take time off from work again to look after her as she has been in so much pain, and he has received a threatening letter from his employers because he has had to take time off. He doesn't get paid when he doesn't work, unfortunately. He can't afford to lose his job, even though at the moment he isn't able to work as many hours as usual. But he obviously needs to find a way to keep a roof over their heads and the bills paid while he takes care of his wife and spends as much time with her as he can.

I know this has turned into an essay, but I needed to let everyone know how things are.

We would be hugely grateful if you could share this Go Fund Me with as many people as you can. We are in desperate need and I only have my disability benefits and it isn't enough for me to be able to help them much.

Thank you all so much for your help so far. We have appreciated it beyond words.

    Ruth x

FRom one of Simon's latest messages:

"Just been told today that it's 'Stage 4'!!
    It's spread to her 1st, 2nd and 3rd lumbar!!"

I simply can't imagine what he is going through, let alone his wife

Thank you for posting this 'TheRealKW'... It's true it's now in her 1-3 lumbar and has increased in size in her groin area...I'm in bits and can barely function, but have to try to be strong for my wife and kid.
Worst is that my company have now pretty much suspended my working hours as I'd taken so much time off in the past 2 weeks to look after her.
If anyone knows what Thai hospitals are like then they know that she barely gets any help and has to try to walk to the toilet herself if no one is there to help her into the wheelchair. So, next month I will barely get any salary and my company DadaABC aren't replying to my emails, I'll try to secure another online teaching company so that I can get some form of income, but I've been with this one for almost 2yrs and didn't expect such awful behaviour from them.

I've told them that I won't miss any more days unless it's an absolute emergency, but they don't seem to care and I'm left with no work this week at all....Never felt so bad and useless in my entire life...I was also offered a job teaching yesterday back in Saudi and obviously couldn't take it...

Thank you again for you support....I'm eternally grateful to you and everyone else whose helped out or even sent their best wishes.

Have lost loved ones myself to the big C. Time to give serious consideration to taking your wife home. Speak with the doc and have him school you in how to administer pain medication.

Let your wife spend her remaining days in a familiar environment surrounded by her loved ones.

That sounds so incredibly sad . . . but better than staying in a hospital.

Simon, I hope your fund-raising is still going and people are still helping . . . I wish there was more I could do

She's kind of blocking it out, I'm told, and retreating into herself . . .

    Uodate from this morning:

"Doctor has given my wife 1-3 months to live at best!!
I'm beyond numb and devastated, it's in her bone marrow now.

we'll have to come back (to the UK) and soon, don't know how we're going to afford that, Thailand won't let me stay for long, meaning Padme would be homeless and alone!! So, it urgent!!"

For sure it is. Simon has been kicked by his employer which means that his WP and the VISA based on his WP are void.

From my reading of this thread, I don't think Simon has a WP. He said he was working online.

Going back to the UK is probably a good enough option. With a young child, the government will help with housing etc. For sure it won't be ideal, but it is not an ideal situation Simon and his family finds themselves in.

    Good luck, Simon.

I think you're right . . . but even getting his daughter back will be tough; red tape and flight costs . . . what an absolutely shit situation

Quickly as well because a second opinion is needed. She needs chemo.
